Here is my recently acquired Glock 42 w/ DeSantis Nemesis Holster

I just love pocket guns and couldn't pass on this which ended up replacing my Ruger LCP despite it being larger than both the LCP and my S&W Bodyguard .380.

RevolverDen, how much bigger is the 42 than the LCP? And, what how does it compare in terms of weight?

Nice looking combo you have. Congrats!

Nice weapon, I am sure, but they should make that configuration in 9mm.

The consensus for what I've seen from the online community is we'll see a single stack 9mm from Glock within 3 years or sooner from the time the G42 went into production. If I didn't already own a .380 and had a lot of .380 ammunition on hand, I would have waited for the single stack 9mm. I will be a buyer if/when Glock does the 9mm version.

The actual dimensions are online, but I'll speak to how in practice the difference feels and function:

Size wise if my pocket isn't that deep the handle of the G42 can ride high in the pocket, but a shirt covering the pocket opening takes care of that. Even so, the G42 fits securely and firmly in the Nemesis holster with no risk of it coming out accidentally. Comparatively, the LCP being shorter overall sits lower in the pocket. With a larger pocket like those found in the cargo pants I wear both sit low in the pocket with no concern for space for the G42 whatsoever.

While the LCP is lighter, I forget both are in my pocket while out and about unless I put my hand on or in my pocket to feel for the gun. Both are 6 round capacity magazines, but Glock give you a free second magazine, Ruger does not. I carry the spare mag in my opposite pocket giving me 13 total rounds. I keep a spare box of .380 in my car should I need and and would be able to retreat to my car should it be possible. But I also often carry one of my J frames as well in a IWB holster with a spare speed strip of six giving me an extra 11 rounds of either .38 or .357 depending upon which model J frame I a carrying.

That should be quite sufficient for the majority of personal defense scenarios.
