I prefer hammer fired autos and have two but both are 7+1 cap. I feel I need a 9mm that holds more rds. After a week of research I have limited my choice to the PX4 compact or the CZ 75 compact. Anyone have any thoughts on these guns? Have money burning a hole in my pocket and Buds has both. but I can't seem to choose

Never held the PX4, but my husband and I have both been carrying the 75D Compact PCR for a few months now, and been very satisfied.
I got it because I wanted the DA/SA decocker action, without any safety, for CC.
I've been very happy with the heavy first pull and short reset, lite pull, followup shots. At 7 yards, its the most accurate gun I shoot.
The other reasons I bought it, is that it's an all metal frame, has no rail, and its ergonomic.
Ammo capacity was not a factor in it's purchase, but 15 rounds before reload is good too.

The CZ comes in single action only with safety, or I believe there is a decocker version with no safety. Im not sure the CZ can be had in a double action/single action version. I know there is a decocker version but I'm not sure it can be fired in DA.

I've got the cz75 Compact L/W Alloy frame. It hold's 14 +1 in the pipe AND YES THE DECOCKER works in double/single action.
It is one of my guns I do carry other than my S&W 642.

I've owned a PX4 Storm Full Size chambered in .40 S&W. I've shot the PX4 Storm Compact 9mm.

Now for pure opinion, so take it for what it's worth. I would choose the CZ 75D PCR over the Beretta PX4 Storm Compact 9mm every day of the week. The CZ 75D PCR feels as if it were made for my hand. The PX4 takes a little bit of time to acclimate to.
Not only do I shoot the CZ better than the PX4, I borrowed a friend's PX4 Compact to carry for a day. The CZ is more comfortable and easier for me to conceal.
Good luck! Either way you go, you're buying a good quality pistol.
PX4 Pro's:
- Rotating barrel design radially dissipates a portion of the recoil energy.
- Perceived lower recoil.
- Brunitron finish is like teflon
- Rounds feed almost inline with the barrel. I never had a failure to feed.
- Follow up shots were easy.
PX4 Con's:
- Type G (Decocker) hard to find. Have to buy parts to convert or remove a single detent.
- The safety is on the slide.
- The safety was made by beelzebub. It flares out toward the muzzle. Power stroke the pistol and slip, and you're dinging up your hand.
- Grip isn't as comfortable as it could be.
I currently own a CZ 75D PCR.
CZ 75D PCR Pro:
- Fits my medium to small hands perfectly.
- Full length rails that slide into the frame not over.
- Low perceived recoil.
- Fast follow up shots due to reduced muzzle flip.
- Decocker is on the frame.
- Overall fit and finish are excellent.
CZ 75D PCR Con:
- Can be difficult to find one to buy one.
- Since the slide rides in the frame, there is less slide real estate to grab onto to rack the slide.
- Heavier than a polymer framed pistol, but not by much.
- Stock sights are just ok.
- Can't reach the slide release with my thumb without breaking my grip.
- Almost irresistible compulsion to send it off to Cajun Gun Works for them to work their magic.

I'm a big fan of the CZ 75, and the CZ 75 Compact is my preferred high capacity semi-auto for concealed carry.
The ergonomics work well for me, and if a 1911 or Browning Hi Power fit your hands well, the CZ 75 should also work well for you.
It's relatively compact for a 14+1 9mm, but the steel frame tames the recoil. The pistol is very reliable and more than accurate enough for combat accuracy. The epoxy finish has also been very durable and it's stayed rust free despite extensive summer carry in an IWB holster.
I prefer the DA/SA version with a safety, as I can carry it in DA mode or in Condition 1 like a 1911.

I agree 100% with every point you mentioned, even sending it off to CGW.
It doesn't "need" anything except maybe sights, but it's such a nice gun, I'm tempted to give it a treat.

I have the CZ85DB in 9mm Luger. The amberdexterious cz75.
It's flawless. The cz82 in 9mm makarov and the cz83 in 380 & in 9mm mak are also flawless in operation. All of them have the DA.

CZ75, hands down the better pistol. When you decide to sell it, there is a much higher demand for the CZ than any of the non-M92 Beretta pistols.

The CZ75 pistol in 9mm is the choice of the Russian special ops. We can put a price on a dependable, reliable pistol. I'd put my life on the line any day with a cz pistol. When I purchased the cz82 in 9mm makarov I thought it was a way less powerful round over the 9mm Luger. I was wrong that's a nasty round too.
I regret the cz75 never was offered in a 7.62x25 tokarev round.

I don't know what you consider way less but it is less. 9 mak is about on par with 38 special in a 3 - 4 in barrel. And about 100 - 200ft-lbs of energy less.
Russian SF also use Glocks, Strike One, HK and others as well

OK thanks everyone I was kind of leaning toward the CZ but wanted to know what other people thought. Just had a problem with those wings that they called a safety on the PX4. True for some $70 I could replace them with low profile ones but they should have been on there in the first place. So just ordered a CZ 75 from Buds.

I agree. If you look carefully at my CZ 75 Compact above, you'll note the Tru Glo night sights.
That's another plus as they are readily available for the CZ 75.

I have MeproLight TruDots on the way for mine.
To me the biggest difference in my humble opinion between the PX4 and the CZ is the feel in the hand. The Beretta to me feels awkward and out of balance.
The CZ on the other hand is a much more graceful and balanced pistol.
I just shoot better with it, I also feel the internal rail feature of the CZ is a huge plus.
