I have a fairly new Zastava Serbian M57 in 7.62x25. It came with two magazines. When fully loaded, one magazine will release and drop about 1/4 of the way out of the butt after a couple of shots. Does the same thing when dry fired. If loaded with fewer than 7 rounds or not loaded at all, it won't unlock when dry fired. I can see no difference in the retention slot in the magazine bodies. The other magazine works fine loaded or unload, live fire or dry fire. I'm stumped. Any ideas? It's too late to return the magazine.

I had this same problem with an after market mag. I purchased for my Model 54 CHI-COM Tok. I finally noticed that the after market mag. body was just a hair thicker than the original. A little work gently squeezeing the sides in a padded vise solved the problem. Try this-it may help you:):)

You might check the height in 1/1000" from the top od mag release to top of feed lip and see if you need to file the top side of the notch.

When I was building 1911's the mag eject button sometimes had a seam line from forging that needed filed off.

Hope these help. Ivan

Another thing to eyeball is (from the outside) how deeply the mag catch is sitting, relative to frame (grip) surface. If it's sitting higher with the dropping mag, that mag's slot may be a bit narrower than it should be.
