Best 9mm by Best Manufactures

I was waiting for somebody to catch that.:D Putting the 9000 in the list is an expression of my unbridled LOATHING of the 92. The 92 is the only pistol I have picked up and shot that I cannot shoot straight no matter how much I try.

I have the same problem with the CZ 75...had three of them and sold 'em all as I just can't shoot 'em. Go figure.

Grand Power X-Calibur followed by CZ75.

If you were compiling a list of the best 9mm pistols by the best gunmakers....what would be on yours?

For Sig a 210?

Walther: P5 or P88? Or...

Beretta: 92?

Colt: Government Competition?

H&K: P7

You get the idea.

What for Smith?
For Mauser?
Browning (Hi Power? What else?)

Hard to argue with your picks, Redcoat and good question, one I've pondered for years. For ME....

Sig (Swiss) P210
Sig (Germany) P210 Legend Super Target, or P226 X5

Walther P88 full Size

FN High Power

S&W 952 or M41

HK P7M8 Chantilly era

CZ75

Glock 17

Springfield 1911 Loaded

I only own two 9 MM pistols. Have been a S&W revolver person for most of my life and also carried a Glock 23 (.40) for about ten years before retiring. Of the two 9 MM I own (Beretta 92F and S&W Shield 9), I feel the 92F is the best of the two. My 92F was made in 1985 in Italy. It is smooth as silk, accurate, exceptionally well made with manageable recoil.

Really? I've had a bunch and think they're smooth as silk and laser accurate in my hands. Even had a few Cougars. The Italians surely know how to build a gun. Too bad they've gone down the futuristic space looking guns road now. Even the 9000 was used in the futuristic movie "Minority Report". The CX4 looks like something an Imperial Stormtrooper would carry as he chased after Han Solo.

There's a whole bunch of really good 9mm pistols out there. You'd have to really get weird to screw up.
For me personally as a lefty my pick would be my CZ SP-01. Best version of the CZ 75 line with a great trigger out of the box and ambi safety. I've shot a few Hi-powers and I find the CZ is the Hi-power improved.
A real close second is my S.A. range officer in 9mm. Had to add a ambi safety but it is a surprisingly good shooter.
I have been told to shoot a Sig P210. I don't want to because I can't afford one!
Disclaimer: A Glock 26 is never far away from me.

Lots of great semi-autos out there, but if I were to buy a new 9mm today, it would have to be a Sig Sauer P225.

After reading these posts I'll have to add a CZ 75 compact to my wish list. Kept popping up in numerous posts. Have been looking at these for a long time, don't know why I haven't taken that final step of acquisition.
Would really like a P210 but cost prohibitive.

I second the nomination of the Model 915!

I second his second. The 915 is quite possibly the most underrated pistol ever made by Smith & Wesson. I bought mine new when they first came out to use as an off-duty gun. It's approaching the 90K round count, and I've never had a malfunction of any type, with I-dont-know-how-many different types of ammo. I have more than a few handguns, and I enjoy shooting them all. My 915 is one that I carry when my life depends on it. There is no higher recommendation than that.

Academy has a Sig P226 Texas Edition with the Lone Star on the walnut grips that's calling my name. I think the P226 is one of the best 9s out there. The one I shot (not Texas Edition) has a very smooth light trigger with a short positive reset. It was a joy to shoot. It's $1000, though, so I have managed to resist so far.

I'm also longing for a CZ 2075 Rami. Never shot one, but I love CZ pattern pistols, and that one would make a good carry gun.

I dunno', Redcoat

The best 9mm's for me from the best manufacturer:

Beretta Px4 Compact matched with the
Beretta Cx4 Storm with Px4 magazine well adaptor

I could have listed the 92FS/Cx4 but prefer the Px4 due to low recoil. I believe these pistol/carbine combos maximize the potential of the 9mm and help develop practical shooting skills.

Although I admire the design & internals, I find Glocks uncomfortable to shoot. I regard "Glock knuckle" as a deal breaker rather that an idiosyncrasy; plus Glock does not manufacture a 9mm carbine to match the pistols.

Now a 9mm carbine that uses Colt magazines coupled with a Colt pistol utilizing same, tweaks my interest.

At the top or very near the top of my list would be CZ 9mm's. In my opinion you just can't get much better than a CZ. As soon as I can get hold of one I'll be getting myself the new CZ P-10C
