Sig P365
I had seen these little compact 9mm's a couple months ago, and found they were in short supply. I had my LGS put my name on the "want" list, and last Friday I got the call they got a few in. I took a look at it and decided I still liked it, just the right size and really fit my hand, 10 round mag with a 12 round available. I was thinking, 10 rounds trumps 6 rounds.
Picked up this morning and brought home for a good cleaning (lots of excess oil). It had been test fired for sure. Then took to the range and proceeded to put about 100 rounds through it. I ran Win White box, my Hornady 147 gr XTP loads, Bayou 147 gr coated, Bayou 124 gr coated, and my Precision Delta 124 gr JHP's. All were 100% functional, and from a 12 yard rest all shot and grouped close to the POA. The 147's shot just a maybe an inch low, the 115's and the 124's all shot to the same POI.
I think I'm going to like this little gun. It is no bigger than a J Frame and almost as small as my LCP2.
One of the targets from 12 yards, using different loads with each magazine. Target is the FBI Qual target.

I like mine. Shoots much bigger than it actually is. Love the sight picture.
I bought mine by accident. I heard the store owner calling people on a wait list. I was like waiting for what? He showed me. I bought one.

I just bought one of these today myself. One of the Officers I work with is selling a bunch of handguns that belonged to the father of a friend of his. It's new in the box, including the Sig sticker. I paid the asking price of $375. I think I did okay.

Did you examine the primers for drag marks?

Is that your neighbor’s fence the target is hanging from?
I want one of those myself; however, I believe I will wait and shoot the one I will buy my son for a combo birthday/Christmas present.

I'll say!
Around here, the LEO price is $450 and I'm seeing them still at as much as $600...both plus tax.

Sig P365
When they pop up they sell for around $500-$550 here in Texas. 12 round mag is still concealable but they take having a loader to get all 12 in the magazine.....ask me how I know.

I got mine on July 19th by being at the right place, right time. Was in a LGS and pawn (AZ Firearms and Collectibles Tempe, AZ) on July 17th.
I thought I would pick up a 365 at some point - maybe Jan/Feb 2019.
Was looking at a Glock 26 for kicks. Asked the salesman if they had sold any P365's. He said they had 2 in the back that he couldn't sell yet (based on pawnshop rules in AZ - ?). I asked if I could take a look. One was built in March. One was built May 15, 2018; looked to have never been fired (and that's what the salesman said as well) - still w/ factory grease; had warranty card and all paperwork, etc - even the orange piece for ejection port/barrel. It was labeled "like new" and priced at $499. I put $100 down and he said he would be able to sell it on 7/19. I came back that day , paid it off, and walked out with a used/"like new" P365.
Those are the only two I have seen in 4 LGS in AZ. One has one for display only and one rental (C2 Tactical). Another shop (Healy Arms - Tempe, AZ) said they get about 2 at a time and they sell immediately. Sportsman's Warehouse in Mesa,Az says the same thing.
After buying it I put 1000 rounds of various cheap and quality ammo thru it. I had enough failures to extract that I was not confident to use it for EDC. I ended up contacting Sig and sending it in. Got it back last week - 9/13. Its had 400+ rounds through it after work done by Sig - including the 90 rounds Sig tested it with. All flawless function since I got it back. Sig took care of my Sig/me.
I'm very happy with it - shoots well; like the ergonomics; incredible capacity esp w/ the 12 rounder (same size as my Glock 43 w Pearse +1 extension.)

I did notice a very slight drag mark on the primer indents. Is this a sign of unlocking a little early? It is just a slight elongation of the primer dent.
I also discovered a Shield holster will fit it very well, a trifle lose, but snug enough when on the belt you could turn a somersault and not lose it. (You could not me).

I bought one in Mid March and liked it so much I did something I have never done before, I bought a second one just because.
I stopped counting after 3000 rounds and it has been my daily carry for months.
I cringe when I hear "primer marks". I have a few mouse guns and everyone of them leaves an elongated swipe on the primer. I have found no down side to primer swipes with any of my guns.
As a RSO I can't tell you how many people have fired my gun and immediately picked one up.
To anybody looking for a small high capacity semi auto, test drive one of these wonders. Bring your billfold.

I have over 1,000 rounds through mine. The only (one) malfunction was shooter induced. My thumb pushed up on the slide lock during recoil. Primer drag marks are a non-issue IMHO, although I stay away from steel-cased ammo. I would think that a lot of steel cased ammo "might" put extra stress on the firing pin, if the firing pin dragged all the way to the edge of the primer pocket. My Sig P 365 has replaced my Kahr CM9 for EDC. I carry mine in a Vedder pocket holster. I do miss my Crimson Trace laser. I may get one, down the line, but then I'll need a new pocket holster.

The P365 is the 2nd best selling handgun at the LGS I work part-time in. It is exceeded in sales only by the Ruger EC9.
The terms "innovative" and "game changer" are overused in the gun world. And usually applied to guns which are neither. The 365 is both truly innovative and if sales and public interest are any indication, a game changer.
We sell every one we can get our hands on. And our customers tell us they love the gun. No reported issues either. Sig hit a home run with this model. Regards 18DAI

I'll bet that, had S&W brought such a pistol to market before anyone else, it would be saluted here as the holy grail.
Had that been the case, I'd have bought theirs (instead of buying two Sigs).

After all the people who now own the Sig P365 have had a chance to wring out their pistols, I've noticed that the drama has quieted down considerably.

In a striker fired gun the firing pin is not withdrawn until the action cycles. If the striker is still protruding when the case hits the ejector, you get primer wipe.
With hammer fired guns the return spring on the inertial firing pin will tend to withdraw the firing pin before the case gets to the ejector, so no primer wipe.

I finally got to handle one in a gun store yesterday. It is a remarkably small package for 10 rounds of 9mm. It fit my hand pretty well like my Kahr CW9, but at $599+taxes...
Still not sure I could carry a gun with that short a trigger and no trigger dingus.

I bought one because of the high capacity, small size and the trigger. Glocks have had AD's, believe it or not, even with a trigger dingus.

I've never been a fan of manual safeties except on single-action pistols, but to each his own.

The Sig does come with two magazines and night sights. Nothing against the Kahr. My EDC for years was the Kahr CM-9, until this baby came along.

We have had seven ND's by LEO's in our cleaning room. No fatalities but one guy now has four fingers on one hand. The dingus on the gun is worthless in the dingus in the brain fails to clear the gun before pulling the trigger to remove the slide.

That's awful but might be a good reason for your department to adopt the P365 which doesn't require a trigger pull to remove the slide.

A very interesting and sane response. Their solution, if you can believe it, was to partition off each cleaning station with bulletproof dividers. Glock must have a very strong lobby with LEO agencies. I suspect Sig is rubbing their hands and waiting quietly in the background.

We're I the boss, I'd have taken a much cheaper approach. I'd have invested a few bucks in HUGE signs for each bay...

They're both 9mm.
One holds 8+1, the other holds 12+1 as shown in these photos.

AND you dont have to rebuild the 365 with Apex parts after you buy it. To give it everything the factory couldnt be bothered too. Regards 18DAI

I think they are different guns. Capacity aside, the Shield is quite a bit larger. The Sig can actually fit in a front pocket holster albeit tight in a pair of jeans. A Kahr PM9 is MUCH better for pocket carry in my opinion. The pictures posted really do not show just how much smaller the Sig is when compared to the Shield. Believe me, S&W would have killed to come up with this gun before Sig.
The Sig has a more rounded grip with a nice undercut at the trigger guard. My Glocks and Shield never fit my XL hands very well and for some reason the smaller rounded grip if the Sig is perfect.
The Sig has night sights from the factory.
I sold my Shield because it never fit into a "keeper" category for me.
It was too big for some tasks and too small for others plus the fact I was never very good with the Shield. I never liked the thin deep grip.
My Shield was a early on new firearm. $399. Apex sear was a must, add $50. Meprolight night sights which really helped were $80 + $20 to install. Talon grip tape another $20 but a big improvement so about $569 total.
My P365 needs nothing and I paid $515 for each of them about 4 months apart.
I am not saying it is for everybody and bend over if you buy extra mags but like I said before, it is the only gun of which I have an exact duplicate in the safe.

Well I finally shot mine and I am going to have to learn a different grip. I think I am holding the thing to tightly. Point of impact was to the left of point of aim. I called Sig customer service and the rep said he had the same problem with his. So next time out I will lighten up on the grip and see how it goes. I did adjust my aim a few degrees right and I was punching out the center of the target. It was very strange to have to aim off center to hit center......

Officially changed my EDC today from my Glock 43 to my SIG P365.
Long story short -
First 1K rounds - 7 FTExtract/1 light primer strike.
Sent to Sig.
Since receiving it back - 550+ rounds flawless - various ammo - cheap and quality.
Totally confident in this particular pistol.
When I made the switch - I'm still amazed that I emptied 2 OEM magazines (w/ Pearce +1 extensions) and I put all but two rounds in a single twelve round Sig P365 magazine.

Still not sure I could carry a gun with that short a trigger and no trigger dingus.

I thought I'd mention that I was at a new little shop the day before yesterday. The owner couldn't wait to tell me that he got in a couple of Sig P 365's. They were priced at $550.

Don't aim at anything but the center of your target. If you are right handed and hitting directly left of center, it could be your tight grip but more likely you are using too much finger on the trigger. If you are using a two hand grip, try applying more grip pressure with your support hand and use the center of the pad on your trigger finger.

Right handed, hitting directly left of center.....at least knowing the variables that can affect point of impact will give me something to work on.......I also ordered the Sig Lima 365 green laser to see if I can improve my aim with an aid.....no judging I am old with even older eyes.

If I can consistently hit a 6 inch plate at 15 yards and my 10 and 12 inch plates at 25 yards, I’m pretty darn happy.
I was hitting the Dueling tree at 15 yards with it, very easily. The sights are awesome. They’re set up as combat sights, meaning you cover the target with the front sight. Even at 25 yards.
I’m only up to about 500 rounds in it. No failures of any sort.

Some guns fit some folks better than others. Here's my two P365s and my 3" 686+, all at 30'. Yeah, I know, apples and lemons.

Saw one a few weeks ago while cruising the lgs’s with a forum member who has two. It was priced at $459.99. I left it there.
I have plenty of carry guns.

Sig makes great stuff but the design of their P365 green laser leaves a lot to be desired. The activation button doesn't protrude far enough to be activated without a death grip on the gun, and it's placement is not ergonomically correct. Even with the death grip you have to assume a very UN-natural grip to activate the button which plays havoc with shot placement.
And, by the way, if the blister pack is opened they won't take it back. How do you even know it is not defective until you open the package? They gotcha! VERY un_Siglike behavior.

I purchased from Planet optics......great customer service so if the laser isn’t up to snuff they have an easy return policy.
I did read some of the reviews but I am willing to take a chance on it at least for range use.

Every time I shoot a polymer pistol, it groups a couple of inches to the left at around 25 yards. Last Friday, I shot a buddy's new M&P and the same happened. I am far from new to pistol shooting and shot bullseye for decades, as well as, several other disciplines, including PPC, double-action, with a revolver. I now have a Sig P 320 compact and a Sig P 365. I hold with a tight grip..."Tight grip=tight group!" My solution to grouping a couple of inches left was to move the rear sight to the right a little. After over 1,600 rounds through my P320 and over 1,200 round through the P 365, my groups are still centered after a sight adjustment. I think that it has something to do with my eyes or eyeglasses, but who knows? If you can hold a good group at 25 yards, I'd just move the sights. Just a tip: A sight pusher comes in handy and a little movement goes a long way. I used a pencil and shaved the lead to a fine point to make a witness mark on the slide and sight.
