M&P 2.0 3.6 with 15 round clip, loaded weight with 16 rounds of 115 grain = 32 oz

7.7 oz difference with M&P holding 3 more rounds.

Well everyone knows the new sig P365 has had some issues with broken strikers, dead triggers, scratched mags, failures to feed, failures to eject, failures to lock back on last round and primer drag on early build dates. But hell I had to get me one. I bought one with a June 18, 2018 build date. Build date good according to web info of rolling changes sig has made.

My P365 testing
Out of box cleaned and oiled. 3rd and 4th 12 round mag shot using 124 grain federal fmj I had 2 failures to feed (bullet was not picked up from mag). On my 2 extra 12 round mag that I purchased I noticed mag follower damage. It's like the last bullet was picked up and sheared a chunk of plastic off the edges in the middle of follower. Towards the end of my estimated 500 rounds and 3 range trips using 115,124,147 fmj and hollow points. I have experienced 3 to 4 failures to lock back on last round. As others have stated my thumb is riding the slide release or touching it. When I grip the p365 my right hand covers the entire grip leaving no room for my left support hand palm to touch the grip. I always have my right thumb touching the frame in my grip. It has been advised that I should pull my right thumb away from the frame(slide release). It's just something I can't get use to doing. Makes me wonder if I grip wrong in a defensive situation and my right thumb is pressing hard on the slide release, would I get a malfunction on 2nd round?
I have inspected several lots of 115,124 and 147 grain for primer drag. All spent casings have primer drag Mark's and I mean everyone. The striker is hitting the primer and dragging the top close to the edge of casing but not touching the casing(light drag marks). Web info has stated that even the shields exhibit this.
Other than the above problems the P365 is very accurate when I'm using the 12 round mags or 10 round mag with pinky ext.

TOTALLY unacceptable failure rate for a carry gun.

I think the 365 is “too much of a good thing”.

Got to physically small. Same rule applies to most 380’s. The quest for ever smaller lackage results in higher failure rate.

Face it the human hand phusic size has limits. Springs and physics have limits. And I think we have refined continually and we are nOw seeing we have reached, or surpassed, the physical and/or physics limits.

Just my opinion.

Just like the p365, I cleaned the factory lube off and sparingly oiled.

Estimated 250 rounds of everything I had, just like the p365 testing. Old, new, 115, 124, 147 fmj and hollow points.
Not a single issue, not one. I didnt have to change my grip, I didnt have to worry about my right thumb touching the slide release. Ejection was great. Perfect primer hits on all spent casings. I felt this m&p was just as accurate as the p365. With a slight edge going to the p365 because of the x-ray sights(faster pick up of target)

All this bitching about the aggressive grip texture on the m&p 2.0 is ****. What it does for me is. I pull the gun up to shoot and the pistol stays planted in my hand. After each shot i take, I don't have that feeling where I have to readjust my left support hand unlike the p365. It stays planted for follow up shots. The m&p 2.0 3.6 recoil is lighter, smoother, better than the p365 IMO.

There are lot of youtube reviews out there talking about the m&p 2.0 trigger, comparing 1.0 vs 2.0. Never shot the 1.0 version. "I dont like the reset, the funky hinged trigger, the audible reset, bah, bah, bah." The m&p 2.0 3.6 trigger feels very natural to me. Ah some compain, "well you have to pull the trigger all the way back to frame wall". This didnt bother me, again felt natural. The trigger reset was great imo with no issues of having to expand my finger out to far. Comparing to my glock 17 gen 5 trigger I like the m&p 2.0 better. I still have problems shooting low left with the glock. Comparing with my vp9 "some say, omg the trigger is so good" I like the m&p 2.0 better and i shot better.

On to the p365 trigger, yah its a sweet steel trigger, smooth, no safety mechanism and short reset and it's a straighter trigger design. On comparison to the m&p 2.0 3.6 I am neutral in my opinion, they both work for me. But I will add, I havent seen any drop testing done with the p365. Referring to, when the p365 is dropped will the weight of the trigger pull back and fire the weapon. I seen a youtube video where some guy was hitting p320's with a hammer at a certain angle at back of slide and firing weapon. Sig later lighten the trigger with a voluntary recall. Maybe sig took light of the bad press and there is no issues with p365.

After est 250 rounds I disassembled the m&p 2.0 3.6 and found zero issues concerning wear. (Same results from p365)

S&W 2.0 compact is king of the hill presently IMO

I have both the P365 and M&P 9 Compact (4" Barrel). Neither has given me the slightest bit of trouble, and each does exactly what I expect of it.

However; they are very different guns, and I expect different things of them. I have no idea how to go about doing a head-to-head comparison, nor do I have any desire to do so. That would be like comparing a good sports car to a good pickup.

I like both very much, and there is a place for each in my (very full) safe.

Yah, all this comparison was for those people that are on the fence about weather they should get the new types of subcompacts vs compacts. This is the same things I've asked since I dont have alot of guns compared to others. )

I have both p365 and 2.0 3.6 inch. I love both. I like the 3.6 better than my 2.0 compact. My p365 has been the most reliable fun I’ve ever owned. I’m at 1400 flawless rounds.

I think you've answered your own question about which gun is best for you. Some guns simply aren't very compatible with one's hands or grip styles even when the guns themselves are decent products. I have three SIGs, two Shields and a 1.0 M&P 40c. While they're all good semi-autos and I shoot them well, I shoot my 40c and my Shield 45 the best. I carry the heavier 40c because I like the added ammo capacity. I quickly got used to the 40c's extra weight, and it is still small enough to be pocket carried. Since the 2.0 3.6" is about the same size as the 1.0 40c, you'll adapt fairly quickly.

I shot a fairly new 2.0 4" 40 recently. Its trigger was much smoother than mine was when it was new, and had much less takeup. However, the 2.0 trigger was noticeably stiffer than mine as I pulled though the break point. After 2,500+ rounds my trigger has smoothed out a lot and has lightened up somewhat as well. Since the 2.0 triggers start off better than the 1.0s, by the time they’re broken in they should be really good. So, before you go Apex, give yours 1,000 rounds or so before you decide.

I carried the shield 1.0 9mm for a long time and loved that gun. It was accurate and I never had a failure with it. I bought a P365 with a June 2018 born date. I have now replaced my shield with the sig as my edc after reaching 1000 rounds with no failures of any kind with any fmj or jhp ammo I've tried. For me, I'm much more accurate with the P365 and to me it feels like there"s less recoil than the shield. As was previously stated, everyone has a different hand size and that may be one reason I shoot the P365 better, along with it being a better trigger.
