Glock Totally Unacceptable Quality Control

I believe the OP is serious here. Even a Blue Label gun would cost near $500.00 and should not have a part with wear like that. I sent him a name and contact info for someone at Glock, Inc. who hopefully will help resolve this issue.

Agree with one-eye-Joe
"I HAVE NO ATTRACTION TO GLOCK PISTOLS, DESPITE THEIR POPULARITY. I MUCH PREFER THE AESTHETICS OF MY STEEL AND WOOD"
I prefer Steel, wheels and wood!

Mr. Muggins If I were in your situation I would want a full refund or an exchange for an unblemished one.

$398.20, no tax, free shipping, no transfer fee from my friendly LGS owner . . . :D

My Sig P224 sat on a shelf for about 5 years. Still looked perfect. I would first stop by the offending LGS.

Unfortunately, you accepted the gun. I'm sure you're just as mad at yourself as anyone else.

The finish on this part tends to wear easily. I replaced this part because the finish was gone from the original one, yet two months later this is what I had. A combination of sweat and holster rub caused this.

Glock will likely send you a shipping label to return the M21 and make it correct.

Does the weapon fire and function overwise ?
The photo shows a bright spot on the lever ? If that is the only issue, I would use a black sharpie as another member suggested.

Oxpho blue...…...especially for small touch-ups.

What is a "blue label" Glock?
Same as any other Glock except a certain number are allotted to Law Enforcement certified dealers for sale at a discounted price to those that qualify for the LEO discount. The discount isn't restricted to LEO only and a surprising number of other people also qualify for the discount. If interested ask a dealer as I don't know the whole list of qualifiers.

Here you go, straight from Glock: Blue Label Program

I asked at a Blue Label dealer for my brother. The dealer wasn't sure but did some checking and said my brother's ID from the VA showing his 100% service related (combat) disability qualified but I don't think he's actually used it so I can't say for certain.

I bought a barely fired 43 this past summer for $350 from a deputy who was wanting a coyote/FDE Blue Label 43. He only let me have one magazine . . .

I like FDE guns too, but mine are Sig P250's.

Muss,

While the part in question is one that will eventually wear anyway, I fully agree that you are entitled to the NEW pistol you paid for and should NOT take it upon yourself to have to fix it - even though installing a new one is easy - it's the principal. I'd also be a bit curious as to WHY it has worn that much if it is new. Did they just install a bad part? Did they install a used part? Did someone along the line try to pass off a "used" pistol? Was it a re-furb?

If it were mine, I'd ask for a new gun and I truly believe you are entitled to ask them to pay any freight and fees that might be associated with that. Please let us know what they have to say!

After reading the OP and the first ten comments I assume this is a joke thread is it not?
You said you picked it up frol a LGS which means you inspected your gun before you took possession am I correct?
If not, proceed;

Are there any other indications that your gun has other wear indicating it was previously owned and shot?
Is this a special rare Glock, one that you will pass down unfired in your family for generations?
If not, does the wear mark on that gun in any way effect it's performance?
Assuming you will carry this gun in a holster, you will be hard pressed not to have that mark show up within a few dozen draw/reholster training sessions.
After your holster sessions and firing a few thousand rounds, you would likely be able to sell that gun for at least what you paid for it if not a bit more.

All of this reverts us back to the first question I asked, "This is a joke thread is it not?"

I would take it up with the LGS first, and ask for a new gun or a full refund. If the LGS refuses, I would never do business with them again and I would take the issue up with Glock customer service.

Muss,
You asked, so here is my thought. I'm accepting your report at face value of the condition of this handgun. The brand makes absolutely no difference to me and it shouldn't to anyone. Ultimately, it's the manufacture who holds the warranty, but if I were you, and you are indeed friendly with that LGS, I'd tote it right back in there and tell them this is what you found when you got it home and looked at it in good light. Then I'd see what the LGS has to say about it. If you can't find satisfaction there, then I'd probably get in touch with the manufacturer forthwith. I'd also like to know if there are any other signs at all of usuage or firing (beyond factory). If indeed your copy left the factory in that condition, then a pox on the factory for letting it out the door lookin like that.

I will say that the gurl I've been married to for almost 50 years had a mark or two and a blemish that more careful inspection revealed after our wedding day. I'm glad to say that I decided to accept those marks and blemishes, given that I brought a few of those to the table myself!! You gotta decide for yourself what you want to do, and I strongly suspect you can make up your own mind about that. Meantime, you've given us all a reason to spend a few minnits reading and typing!!! Good job, even if you are pushing our leg here and smiling all the while!

99% chance it happened after it shipped. So, it's not a Glock problem and you can't sue them or send it back.

Since you inspected it and bought it anyway, it's YOUR problem. Just suck it up.

If the LGS hid the defect from you / had you inspect it in dark light, etc, then its the dealers problem and you should sue him.

If its a scam / joke, what's the purpose?
