2020 Python in the house.

Nice review from Hickok45 comparing the old vs. new Python.

If you still have the"dud" round
and own another .357, a Smith for
instance, I'd love to know if it fires.

No, I just left it in the "dud" can at the range. There was a good solid hit dead center on the primer. The primer didn't look "right." It looked like it either didn't go in the pocket straight, or that there was a small piece of brass in the pocket with the primer.

CajunBass,

May you have many, many, many years of good
health and enjoy your new Python.

But your soul is in jeopardy!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):)

Your new Python is fantastic. I have an older Python rarely shot, but the first two things that grab you are the amazing nickel finish and the trigger. Looking forward to seeing a new one in person!

...I don't use Fiocchi ammo anymore for the same problem you've had.

Congratulations on your new Python. We had two for sale in my area. Both were sold quickly for $2000.00 each. You got a good buy.

I kinda like the grips myself. I suppose I understand why you were on the fence about them, but you say they handle the recoil well. Good! I recently bought a GP100 6" Ruger, but those rubber Hogues handle the .327 Fed okay. I still think they're kinda ugly on my gun. It's ONLY a Ruger but it deserves something better. That's a beautiful revolver you've got there! Congrats!

Actually that’s stainless steel. Not nickel.

But it does look like nickel.

Good Python

CajunBass, Thank you for a real review of the Shootable
Reintroduced Colt Python 357Mag. I also enjoyed your
Range Review.

Congratulations on your New Purchase. I have never owned a Colt.
You have renewed my faith in the Colt Python 357Mag.

Since this 2020 Python came slithering along, my current plan is
to wait for the right S&W 657 41Mag to come along, and then
all should be fixed with Colt, and then purchase the 4.25"bbl Python.

The Best to you and your Endeavors.

P.S. I looked at a 657-0 yesterday for $800, but passed because
of no box and the Right Side Plate was all scratched up (for
some reason).

I'm sorry Todd...I read your post last night and it never occurred to me that maybe you meant that YOUR Python had a nickel finish. Duhhhhh. Please accept my apologies.

As for Fiocchi, I've never had any problems with it before, as a matter of fact, it's in my carry gun right now. Normally I shoot my reloads, but I like to try out a new gun with factory stuff.

Thanks for a great write-up CajunBass.
I'm not a fan of the grips either - wonder if Colt has contracted Altamont to crank out those laminated grips, much as S&W has?
At least they didn't do rubber.

They are made by Altamont, and are phenomenal.
