I have a new Ruger EC9s. When inserting the magazine, the upper right forward corner of the magazine hits the magazine release spring preventing quick magazine changes. There is quite a bit wobble/free play between magazine and magazine well. I don't see a solution for this, does anyone have a thought?

I just checked mine; I don’t think there is anything wrong with your Ruger. Yes, the magazine does “hang up” when the release is pressed. The mag does not eject freely because the magazine safety doohickey is dragging on it as it drops out of the mag well. Turn the pistol over and look up in and behind the trigger, then release the magazine. You will see that the little doohickey slides back-and-forth depending on whether there is a magazine in place or not. My LC9s was the same way – I do not consider the slightly retained magazine to be a problem at all IMO ...

My brother owns the older LC9s model and the magazines drop free when the mag release button is pressed.
That being said, the LC9s is the older model which was more expensive to produce and he bought it used, so it may just be more broken in.

My issue is NOT the magazine falling out freely. It is about INSERTING the magazine.

I've had my EC9s for at least two years now, but I have no problem at all with the mag release. I carry it daily, clean it maybe once every month & 1/2. I do spray a very minimal shot of Ballistol inside the mag well, insert & eject the mag a few times, then wipe away any excess. Maybe this helps it release better, I don't know, but I don't ever remember having any problems. All 3 mags work as good as the other. Maybe I got lucky. Never have had any issues with it, either. OK, one issue is when I lock the slide back, the release button is too tight; I need to pull back on the slide a little to get it to release. That's the only problem I can think of. (I also spray Ballistol on the innards when it gets cleaned, then wipe off excess.)

Remove the mag release button and use a very fine file or very fine sand paper to remove all burrs, tails, and sprue from injection casting. (This is a common problem when assembling large quantities of this type of mag release.) You might consider an aftermarket Extended Release, then trim about 1/3 of the extra length so you don't dump mags all the time.

OR, Ruger Customer Service would fix it for free, you could call them.
