Chris Reeve Shadow III value?

Yeah, yeah, I know...there are a number of knife forums out there, and I even belong to a few of them. But I've been a member of this community for many years, I feel comfortable here, and I trust the opinions of the members here. So...

I have a Chris Reeve Shadow III knife, made in 2004, that is NIB with papers. I've had it for many years, have never used it, and I'm entertaining the idea of selling it...can anyone here give me a realistic idea of what it's worth?

If it were mine I wouldn't take less than 500. I see them for less, but not
in the condition yours is in. Prices are all over the map. Good luck!

Looking at the knife and its spec, without more, my first estimate would be in the range of $200-300. Knowing it is a Chris Reeve knife, and what his current knives sell for, the first number that pops up for me is $500. Looking a little farther reveals asking prices ranging up to $2000, without any idea if a knife actually changed hands for that kind of price. Nothing would surprise me.

It is a very cool knife, especially if it really is a one piece knife. If the end cap unscrews to reveal a hollow handle containing a bunch of survival accessories, it goes down in my estimation, but probably up on the market.

The end cap does indeed unscrew from the hollow handle, although there are no accessories inside. It's sealed with an 0-ring.

One of the reasons I started this thread is because I've seen those high asking prices, which seem stratospheric to me, but considering the condition of this knife, and the fact that it's out of production, who knows? I figured somebody on here might have a more informed opinion.

Shadow

South African marked knives will bring the biggest premium. Depending on how fast you want to sell it I would price it at$350 to $500

Beautiful!

There was a time I wanted one of his hollow handle knives so bad I could taste it, but never wanted to part with the cash. Like they were too sexy to use for anything. If you're interested in selling it you should have no trouble doing so.
