SPRINGFIELD HELLCAT Opinions??
Looking at the Hellcat as a pocket carry for me, purse carry for the Mrs.
I have looked at most all, and keep coming back to the Hellcat . I would like to hear from any member that has one, both pros and cons.
Thanks

My EDC gun. I love mine. Really good trigger, outstanding sights, thin, light, accurate. They are rugged little guns as well.

Hellcat opinion
I purchased an Optic Plate model with manual 1911 style manual safety. Mine is to do just that, pocket carry, wife’s purse, anywhere small and light is important. Not a particularly great range gun. Recoil might be oppressive for an inexperienced shooter. Small and light is great to carry, not shoot all day.
Mine is surprisingly accurate, but requires a strong grip to accomplish great groups. That said, groups are not important. Ease of carry and lots of rounds on board. Negates the requirement to have an extra magazine along which is a pain in the butt!
It is a sweet, reliable, compact, easy to carry firearm. I STRONGLY suggest you only purchase the model with the manual safety. Your description of how you will use it, an extra safety is smart. Pocket carry is the most risky, ease to put a finger where it shouldn’t be when pulling is out. Keys and other objects, while not likely, but possibly can pull a trigger. The manual on this gun is excellent. Easy and fast off and on, plus, if someone inadvertently gets the gun, it won’t go bang with a simple trigger pull.
Get one, you won’t regret it, especially for your defined style of usage.

I am curious as to why the suggestion for the manual safety.
I have a Sig P365 which is very similar and there is an option for a manual safety there as well.
I could not see the point in having one, but would like to know what I over looked.
Not arguing, just wanting to hear another point of view.

Do not own one but did look at them when picking a carry gun, just didn’t feel right in my hand.
I am not a fan of HS products and couldn’t bring myself to support Springfield.

This is helpful for me as a 1911 owner and user. I've considered getting something in this lightweight compact category that still holds plenty of rounds. To supplement my DW ECO, especially for lighter clothing/summer carry. However I want to stick with a manual safety as it's what I train on. The sig 365 safety wasn't much to get a hold of. I'll have to get my hands on the Springfield and see how it feels.

I don't own a Hellcat, but have looked one over pretty carefully. Seemed like a fine pistol, but ended up buying a P365, as it just fit my hand, and pointed better for me. Both make my old Glock 26 look like a club.
Safety on mine too. Those who cut their teeth on Glocks seem confused by their use on these micro pistols, but they are second nature to old 1911 users, and a lot of cops who used service auto's with safeties.

I have had both, and while the Hellcat is a nice gun, I went with the P365. To me the 365 is more comfortable to shoot, has a better trigger and is a little more rounded and snag free, an important consideration for concealed carry. If at all possible, try both before making a decision. The differences are small but can make big differences to different people.

Hellcat
Don`t own one but have thought about one seriously and if I ran across a "deal" I`m gonna` own one. I have read reviews and watched videos about them and the only thing that I would be sure of if I purchased is that it will have the GEN 2 trigger so would be wary of new old stock. Apparently the original trigger contributed to trigger slap/pinch. Maybe some here can speak to that?

Thank you all for your input, I'm headed out tomorrow to pick up
A Hellcat OSP with manual safety ( Old 1911 habits die hard )

I had the opportunity to shoot both the hellcat and P365 side by side. I liked pretty much everything better on the P365. Everyone that shot the hellcat seemed to shoot high left regardless of right or left hand shooter while everyone shot the P365 POA-POI. I really wanted to like the hellcat but couldn’t seem to fine a reason to buy it over the P365.

I prefer the "cleaner" lines of the P365 and dislike the manual safety on the Hellcat. I am also not a fan of the Hellcat's trigger. The Hellcat is a little larger and a little heavier and does not have as good a trigger as the Sig. The Hellcat is a good contender and does win in the capacity dept. however IMHO the 10+1 capacity of the Sig is more than enough for me.
If the Sig were never invented, the Hellcat would be my go-to but that just isn't the case. This reminds me of the heated conversations (Smith vs Colt) back in the day of Revolvers. At the end of the day, the Hellcat or the Sig are incredible guns and either will be a good choice. personal preferences push a buyer one way or the other.
