What's in Your Pocket: J-Frame, CS9, Sig 365, Shield, or???
So I'm wondering what sort of pocket pistols folks carry; and why.
I've got a 642 Performance Center that fits nicely into most of my pants, and a CS9 that fits okay in jeans. The CS45 I haven't really tried yet.
And I'm curious as to what other folks may slip into their trousers when they really don't want to carry IWB or OWB.
Are the new micro-subcompacts replacing wheel guns? I did one of those side-by-side computer comparisons between my J-frame and a Sig 365 and they were nearly the same size....and it's five versus 10+1 in terms of loading. On the other hand the revolver is about as foolproof as possible in terms of operating simplicity and reliability.
Clearly what you're comfortable with is key; as is what you can shoot well and under stress. What other factors are people considering when they make the decision about carrying concealed? And what percentage of the time do you carry in a pocket versus how else you carry?
(I'm happy with my two choices, but keep wondering if I should be investing in a micro...mini...tiny gun. Prices for such as the Taurus G2s and older Shields are pretty attractive, but I'd probably be better off buying ammo.

I don’t go many places these days because of the virus and other factors. So a Ruger LCP in a pocket holster plus another loaded magazine in a different pocket seems good enough to me.

I carry a 365 on the waist- it's just a tad too heavy in the pocket for me. If I'm bumming around the house, a 442 is in the pocket.

Most of the time it's my 442 in a Uncle Mikes pocket holster and occasionally my P365 in Mika pocket holster. I need to buy a Mika for my 442.

For a several years it was a Ruger LCP. I' know longer care as much about the lump in my pocket so it's mostly a j frame in a Desantis pocket holster. I have a 365 that's supposed to take the j frames place, but even though I've had it over a year, I haven't have enough time to ensure it's as reliable as the j frame so it sits in the gun safe for now.

In my pocket, LCR .38. Its small, light and dependable and its my go to carry piece for just normal daily carry. Just grab it in the holster stick in pocket and do my normal retired old guy lifestyle! I live rural and do not look for trouble, but the little Ruger is close by.
Going in to a serious problem area or situation I will move to a bigger more powerful belt carried weapon.

In my pocket is the Ruger EC9s. It's very reliable, never had a failure of any kind and not too heavy. I sold my Glock 42 after I bought the Ruger. It does well for a < $300 gun. I guess I got lucky with this Ruger.

Normally a 442 from the Performance Center.
Recently have branched out to a 638-2.
Have a Mika holster for the P365 but haven't committed to it yet. Like you, the extra rounds are very attractive to me.

442 in a Mika. Reliability, no snag draw and weight were my deciding points.
Had to give up a few rounds but then, I’m not going to war with it...just to the grocery store usually.

Thanks. I made it. I've been making leather holsters and knife sheaths for 50+ yrs. Most people today only want kydex or similar high tech material holsters. I have several kydex holsters too.

In cargo pants/shorts with decent sized pockets, P365.
For “don’t drag me down” gym shorts, Seecamp 380.

Glock 33, Kramer leather pocket holster. Spare mag and flashlight somewhere; if in dress cloths, my suit coat pockets are reinforced for those. Also a lock blade knife.

When pocket carrying it's my M&P 340 around the home, yard or a quick trip to town but more often these days it's my 1st Gen Shield AIWB. Several other larger, higher capacity makes and models see a lot of use also.

I carry in a DeSantis pocket holster. Most days I wear carpenter Jeans with an S&W 640Pro and a speed loader in the 'watch pocket). If I wear pants with tighter pockets I carry a G43 in the same holster with a spare mag in my support side rear pocket.

If it's going in a pocket, it's a G43. IWB or jeans pocket, it's a G27 modified to SIG 357.

2” M36 or an old High Standard Derringer. With the S&W I have to move my billfold to a different pocket but the HS slides right in behind my billfold and stays in place. I don’t like the idea of getting in a gunfight with only the HS but it has to be better than my fingernails.

My EDC is a 49 no dash in FR pocket. Except when bicycling then a LCR 38 in Right Kidney water bottle pocket. Both guns use 135 +P Gold Dot Short Barrel, 8 shot speed strip of same ammo.

I guess I'll play. It's summer. J Frame in the side pocket. An old model 38 (Bodyguard) with a grip adapter.
Cooler weather, a Glock at 12 O'Clock is the order of the day.
