Got my first CZ 452 rifle in 2011; a FS/mannlicher in .22 mag..... since then I've added a 453 Varmint in .17hmr, as well as several more in.22lr and .223/5.56.
CZ52 master race checking in.
Built like a somewhat graceful tank & 7.62x25 is a laser.
ETA: Be sure to change out the cast firing pins.
Also, I got 9mm Luger barrels for both when the gettin' was good.
.......Adds a whole new dimension to their versatility.
I have a 75BD and a PCR... the PCR has become my EDC, replacing the 4516-1 I used to pack. I also have a 455 American rifle, with .22LR and .22 Mag bull barrels.
The biggest draw to the CZ pistols for me, the ergonomic grip and it's "old school" all metal construction. I also like the way the slide utilizes internal rails and sits lower in the frame... recoil feels different.
I started with a Shadow 2 orange, then bought a 97b, then a 75D PCR, all cajunized!
Fantastic guns. These guns got me into guns which got me into smith and wesson revolvers!
In a world of plastic fantastic autos, CZ just has so much going for it.
They just feel right are so well made they remind me of classic Smith revolvers! THey almost have as much soul as a revolver!
I have the CZ75-BD with the .22 Kadet 2 kit - big fun! Kadet kit runs all ammo flawlessly. Also the 97B, PCR and the Scorpion Carbine 9mm.
The 97B was my first .45ACP, which when I got it 5 years ago, I thought it would only go to the range sparingly. It has not missed a single range trip. Gets at least 50 rds per visit. I put the thin aluminum grips on, and absolutely love it.
I have a 75b matte stainless (discontinued) and a 75b SP01 both of which have been to CZ Custom for the full trigger package. Unbelievable shooters. Have tried other grips but keep going back to the factory rubber grips. Awaiting delivery of a set of Lok palm swell grenade texture grips.
I also have a 75B in matte stainless in near new condition. Yes that one is now discontinued and the prices are going up. Great shooter that never malfunctions and feels great in the hand. Also have the .22 Kadet kit for it that is nearly as accurate as some target pistols. Three 452s, two of them Trainers and one American, all in .22lr. I actually gave one of the Trainers to my son so he could have a quality rimfire. Very accurate guns. When I go squirrel hunting I usually take one of my CZs.
CZ 83 in .380 ACP (Angus Hobdell action tune)
CZ 75 Tactical Sport in 9x19 mm (ROBAR custom)
CZ 97B in .45 ACP (CZ Aluminum Grips and Dawson Precision Sights)
All have functioned perfectly out of the box and have never needed any repair work over the years.
Oddly enough, resting wrists on a sandbag and shooting carefully, that little .380 will repeatedly put all 12 rounds into one ragged hole at 15 yards...and it will do it with mixed ammo in the magazine - with all different brands and bullet weights....go figure that one out....
and I almost forgot....
CZ 527 American Left Handed in .223/5.56x45 (JP Firing Pin Spring, Leupold Rings, Zeiss Conquest Scope)
I got one of the surplus CZ 75 BD last year and just this week put on some G-10 grips I bought off Ebay. Being a revolver guy, I just wanted to try a CZ, all steel. I don't have but one plastic gun, a Beretta M92 22lr. The CZ gets carried and an accurate, pleasant shooter.
My first two guns were a vz.50 and a 52 that came to me as a pair from a buddy who thought I ought to have them because of my penchant for Jawa and ČZ Motorcycles. More recently, I bought a 75BD Police that called to me from under the glass at a local shop. If I ran across an 82 or 83 at a decent price, I would buy it in a minute.
While not a CZ Pistol fan I highly admire their Rifles! I don't dislike their pistols and think they are good quality - just never had a hankering for one. My CZ 453 American Rifle with a single set trigger & Leupold scope is about the most accurate, best shooting .22 I have ever shot - and that includes Anschutz! You just can't miss!
That model is now discontinued and they have since come out with the 455 which IMO is a bit cheaper replacement - but still a formadible rifle. Their Bolt Action rifles are also of excellent quality and workmanship.
I never owned any CZ until I traded for the 97BD. This barely used gun already had the Cajun Gun Works "E" conversion with the 1911 bushing and other goodies. It also had the LPA sight and the rubber grips along with the original aluminum panels. I added the S/S guide rod, because I have an aversion to plastic ones. The quality is excellent and it's a phenomenal shooter. I am a huge fan of the Sig P220, and this pistol is right up there with it.
