Are these grips for a Colt D frame?

I found these grips in a box of S&W J frames grips. Didn't have my glasses on so didn't see the pony medallion at first. I don't have any colt revolvers to try them on. All my colts are 1911's. They are very close in size to the J frame's grips. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, they appear to be for the Colt “short” grip frame of the Detective Special/Cobra/Agent series.

yes, those are for a D frame Colt (short grip frame). I believe they were intended for a blued Agent, which had shorter grips than the Detective Special and Cobra. Nickel guns were supplied with nickel screws and escutcheons.

Those will fit a DS, a Cobra and a Diamondback, but they're not correct.

Post '66 Colt Agent. Will also fit the other post '66 Colt Detective Special and Cobra, but those original grips were longer..

does this help? I have a Diamondback snub that has Detective Special grips on it.
