Stoeger 8045
I'm looking at a used Stoeger 8045 F. Any opinions? Also what is the difference between the "F" and the "FT" model. Thanks for the help.

AFAIK, the T suffix indicates the gun has rail. That said, there are plenty of railed Stoegers not described with a T, but that could just be ignorance. From the Turkish Stoeger website:-
8045 SERIES

That's it. I missed it on the website. Thanks. Anyone have any opinions on the gun itself?

The rotating barrel design DOES reduce felt recoil. I had the Beretta grandpap years ago.

I have the 8045 F, with the rail.
I like it, accurate and soft shooting. Traditional DA gives you tge usual long DA trigger pull, but the reset is short and sweet. Followup shots are easy.
A good solid handful of .45ACP.
Basically a range gun, just need a good holster.

I've owned one for about 10 years now. I think they are one of the finest full power 45ACP's to shoot due to the rotating barrel and how it absorbs recoil. I also like the decocker safety. Makes it really easy to carry a round in the chamber safely. Other than the rather thick grip I can see no drawbacks.

I've only shot rotating barrel pistols in 9mm, but you can tell that the recoil is reduced compared to a tilting barrel pistol. One of these days I'll get my Mauser M2 in 45 ACP to the range to see how well that does with its rotating barrel.

I've owned them in 9mm and 40. They are both soft shooting and accurate. I never had a jam or malfunction with either.
I rarely see the 45 version around here and, when I do, they are priced higher than the others, but still sell quickly.

Have one in 9mm. I like it, only wish it used 92 mags.
