I feel very fortunate to be the proud new owner of this fantastic set of Roper's that are made for the 1911 frame.

These came from a fellow SWCA member and I am grateful that he was willing to part with them....I am hoping that someday I can own a set for one of my S&W hand ejectors.

I decided to put them on my Colt 1911 .38 Mid-Range

These do not appear to have been previously installed or fitted to a frame and there appears to be some shrinkage due to age, but they look fantastic on my pistol and feel phenomenal in the hand.

There is a gap at the front of the grip frame, and I may do a little fine tuning on them at some point, but wanted to give you folks some good photos to enjoy.

Was thinking 1911 was a waste for ropers, but a 38mid range, that’s a good compliment.

Thank you sir, as a bullseye shooter the 1911 has always been one of my favorite platforms.....especially in the .45 ACP chambering.

I have several high quality 1911's that are very accurate (Clark, Les Baer, etc.) and although I enjoy shooting them with standard grip panels, a target set of grips that fits your hand properly is amazing and gives outstanding control.

Having been born and raised on a ranch in cattle country, any time I hear the terms “Ropers” I immediately associate it with Roper boots.

Roper boots are western boots with lower than average square Wellington style heels designed to dig in and prevent the wearer from sliding forward after roping a calf.

They’ve become more popular lately on cowboy boots as they work ok for people who don’t normally wear western boots with a higher, slanted back western riding heel.

Maybe 35 years ago I saw a pair of Ropers on an engraved 1911A1 .45 and they looked wonderful. I was allowed to look and hold that 1911A1 and it was wonderful to hold. The price was too high for me but probably a little less than what THREEDFLYER paid for just the Ropers. The prices have certainly gone up over the years.
