So maybe it's too late to ask, but I can always resell it. I ordered a Glock 22 police trade-in from Aim. I bought one of the S&W .40 caliber pistol LEO trade-ins and it was very lightly used from the looks of it and so far it's been 100% reliable, although only about 2 1/2 boxes through it so far. So yesterday I ordered the Glock, which will be a Christmas present. Only a total of just under $350 shipped & taxed. One 15 rd. mag. This Forum is the only one I use so I'm asking here if there are any negative issues with it if anyone knows? Not looking for anti-Glock arguments, just issues I may need to watch out for. It's a Gen 4 as I said up above.
I know I should've asked first, as I stated, but I have the spare cash right now from something I sold.
I bought a 23, gen 3, and it runs well. That's about all of my Glock personal experience.
I thank yinz in advance.

Also, it's for a 32 year old kid so he'll probably like it. I'll play with it some this summer to check it out.

Glock

I have been shooting, carrying & instructing Glocks since 1988.
My EDC is a Glock.
I think the trade in G22’s are an excellent value. I have bought several and equip mine with a a conversion barrel for 9mm & a conversion barrel for 357 sig. So for $350. Plus the barrels I end up with three potent and capable pistols.
The gen 4 is my favorite of all the gen’s due to the swappable back straps. Aim surplus has 9mm barrels for a very reasonable price.
IMO you got a good value.

I have one I acquired from GT Distributors a couple of years ago. Have not shot it extensively but it is totally reliable so far.

There should be no issues with it. I see/inspect a lot of PD trade in guns. They tend to have some finish wear, but not have been shot much, and in great shape mechanically.

They run great. Shoot. Rinse. Repeat.

The early Gen4s had an issue with the recoil springs, but they figured it out and fixed it. The problem was only related to running the gun with a light...frame flex, slide velocity and whatnot.

A great value.

At an IDPA match one time, a guy was explaining to me his disdain for Glocks. He stated the only good thing about them is they went bang every time you pulled the trigger.

"Yeah. That's kind of idea."

They ain't cool or sexy...but they work.

I appreciate the feedback, guys. Yeah, being a revolver kinda person, there aren't too many regular black "plastic" guns that'll win many beauty contests, but as stated above, "they go bang every time." Any issues with most brands are ironed out pretty quickly it seems. So I guess I'm gonna make a dude happy in December! (Knowing me, his Christmas may come early!)
