Default Raider Pistol

Have been enjoying my Tisas Raider a great deal:

I’m a big fan. It’s proven very reliable and accurate. I’ve also got one of their WW2 GI style pistols and it’s excellent too.

They did a great job. The real deal Marine Corps issued Colt M45A1s cost an absolute fortune and are extremely scarce and collectible on the open market. This scratches the itch nicely for a fraction of the cost.

Thanks! They’re Miltac “desert camo” G10s. The same as those issued to the USMC. It was a nice easy little upgrade.

Yep, I remember those that went back to Colt being auctioned off on a popular website. IIRC they some folks grabbed them for around $1400 at first, then they went for over 2K. Some were in really bad condition. Haven't looked lately but I'm sure they're 3-4x now. I recall bidding on one or two but it was hopeless.

I'll take one like yours for a shooter. Nice job.

Cool gun and with the Tisas reputation I'll bet it will run well.

A current search of sales for decommissioned M45A1s showed two examples at $7K.

I knew when those hit the auction site they would be a hot item. People were buying more than one with some pretty high bids.

I'm fairly familiar with Colt 1911's so was looking at it from a different angle. Not the resale angle.

OP: Enjoy yours. I have one of the Tisas 9mm GI versions and I plan to get the sights replaced and dehorn the sharp edges. Maybe a hard chrome refinish after the dehorn.

The first batch of decommed M45A1's was the used examples and they went for $1349 Buy It Now. I grabbed one of them after doing some really quick research.

The finish may have been well worn on some of those early ones but none of them were in what you would call bad shape. I was happy to get a used one because that meant I could shoot it whenever I wanted. Mine belonged to the 2nd Marine Raiders Support Battalion.

As received, still had some Afghanistan talcum powder sand in it.

John you’ve for a pistol there worth in excess of $7000 now. It will only keep rising. VERY good buy.

So Glenn, I know this was an old post, but I just looked at a new Raider at my LGS and wondered how much you like/dislike it now after having owned it awhile. Have you shot it with different types of ammo? Care to share your results?

Thanks.

That stuff got into EVERYTHING. Sometimes I think I can still taste it.
