Beretta 92X Performance
Am considering this from my “want” list. Either the regular or defensive model(optic carry model as last choice). Anyone have one and have real world experiences? Finally got to paw the defensive model today. Was pretty impressed with the fit and finish. There’s a $300 rebate thru the 31st of the month. What do the experts here think about it? Thanks in advance for the advice/info.

Well after some, a lot, of research I ended up buying the carry optics model. I wanted the heavier version and the optics is the only model still available. Surprisingly it comes with two Toni optics plates that cover most rdo’s on the current market. Arrived in a very nice combination lock case. Fit and finish are excellent. Read about some that had gouges and milling imperfections on previous years, but very impressed with it. Will be a couple weeks before I can get to the range. Will post some pics soon.

I have a 92X performance and have several thousand rounds through it in practice and NRA Action Pistol competition. It has been 100% reliable. Finally - a Beretta with a SA capability with thumb safety or traditional DA/SA. Trigger is sublime with a super short reset. Shoots as accurate as you can hold it and all steel construction means negligible recoil. You won't be disappointed! http://smith-wessonforum.com/attachm...1&d=1703394135

I think it is a great choice. However, don’t get too excited about the rebate. I am still waiting for my rebate check from back in the summer. I got an email saying they had my request, but so far no check.

They still owe me a $100 rebate from 4 years ago. Good luck with that. I never had any problems with any other manufacturer's firearm or ammo rebates. I always receives electronics and other non gun related rebates as well. It's only Beretta.

Unless you're competing in IDPA and need the lightweight, get the regular Performance with the rail. It's what I own, and it's a great gun.

Thanks for the heads up. I've submitted and got a Conf#. Now the waiting begins. I'll just have to shoot while I wait.

I don't own a Beretta 92X, but I was strongly considering getting one because I really liked the frame-mounted safety.
Ultimately, I settled on the el-cheapo version, the Taurus PT92AFS...
No regrets, as it exceeded all of my expectations by a mile. The fit, finish, and function are all absolutely superb. Dunno if it's bullseye accurate and I'm sure that the Beretta 92X is nicer, but for $500 it's absolutely satisfactory.

The Beretta 92 design has become a classic. In 2025 the design will be 50 years old. It has stood the test of time. Nice performance models. I have a 1985 92F with walnut factory grips made in Italy. What a smooth, accurate, reliable 9MM! 1985 was the year the US Armed Forces adopted it to replace the 1911A1.
