Will Beretta fullsize 92FX fit on Beretta Compact frame...and work?

Saw a complete lower compact frame for sale. Wondering if my full size 92FX slide will fit on top and work properly.

Could make a carry gun with the shorter grip, don't mind the longer barrel if it works on the compact frame. (I guess I'll ask if a 92S slide would fit as well...)

I tried over at the "Smithing" section of the Beretta forum but all I got was crickets.

I can't answer your precise question but I can get close. I don't have a full size 92X but I do have a 92X Compact and a 92FS (M9). So I tried the 92FS upper, barrel and all, on the Compact frame and it works fine. Vice versa works too. Both look a little odd but they function fine. Hope that helps a bit.
