Hi friends! Merry Christmas to all of you. Earlier this year Tisas and MAC coordinated to bring another US 1911 clone to the table, the J.S.O.C., era 1980's - '90's armory-modified 1911A1's made from US match pistols. I'm old, so I just had to have one. After getting it, I decided, although MAC has a great presentation, I wanted a little more retro look, closer to the actual pistols. I swapped the extended-length grips for the standard-length, moved to slotted grip screws, and installed a silver adjustable trigger. I'm going to post a pic of the MAC JSOC, an original JSOC, and mine. I'll also add the completed trifecta of 1911A1 goodness! I'm not sure what order they will appear, so keep an eye out. The list of goodies MAC added to this 1911 are far too many to post. You'll need to check their website. Please enjoy!

I’m contemplating an Aviator, I really dig that two tone look. Not real excited to send money to Turkey though.

These Turkish built 1911’s seem solid from the reviews I have read. I bought a Girsan Browning Hi-Power clone and it has been rock solid.I have heard speculation that the Springfield SA-35 have Turkish built slides. Obviously the Turks have the ability to produce quality guns.

Well it’s too late now anyways. I impulse bought the Tisas Aviator and it’s sitting at my FFL. I couldn’t resist that retro two-tone look.

I hope it performs as well as the Turkish Hi-Power clone I bought. I’ve always desired an alloy framed Commander but was gun shy over durability fears. I figure the Tisas is an economical way to dip my toe into the alloy waters.

Second photo in first post is the “Mogadishu” pistol, a very storied weapon. Yours is a very nice tribute but it needs scuffed up a bunch to be more accurate, and you need a rail welded on also . I like it.

Thanks

I very much want one of those JSOCs, and like you I'd absolutely toss in a silver trigger (and maybe a silver ring hammer) for the aesthetics, same style of grips too.

Between these and their "Raider" M45 recreation I'm very curious to see what they wind up doing next, I'd be pleased as punch if they did an early MEUSOC version.

I bought the one at the top of the trio pic in the OP. It was pre-owned but never used; maybe shot a couple times but it didn't look like it. I'm very pleased. The prices new are unreal, but pre-owned price I could not pass up. I only added grip panels like the ones in Faulkner's post. That's the extent of customization by me! Very reliable gun. I'm very far from a pro, but I'd recommend one to anyone looking for a quality 1911. It's winter time. My store-bought M65 should hide it well.
Nice post, Dave.

That makes me wonder what they could do with the Beretta 92S police trade in I got a few years ago, as far as replicating one. It’s the best-shooting 9mm, for me, that I own. Tisas has their stuff together; their left and right hands know what each other is doing.

Wish I'd bought one of these in 9mm
at the pricely sum of $318 delivered.

Perfect picture. How can one pass this up (only if looking for a 1911) I don't own a real Colt 1911, so I'll just sit in the back with my Tisas until it's my turn! I'm joking, of course, as far as my steady hand and other Barneyisms.

Oh wow this might be just what I've been looking as a base pistol for EIC service pistol competition. I was originally going to take a GI tisas 1911 and put the Kensight front and rear adjustable sight that fits the GI dovetail. I have the older Tisas 1911 US Army model but the new one is parkerized, high cut ejection port and has no markings on the slide. Plus it's only like $420. Really a fantastic price considering it's*the* best GI reproduction currently on the market. Love these pistols, really an excellent value and a great base pistol for anyone that wants to get into customizing 1911s or beginning gunsmithing.
