I can't believe I just bought this. Complete impulse buy (althought I've always wanted a "commander" size High Power since I didn't buy one of the Argentine's when they were around).

This is a Girsan MC35 PI (gets good+ reviews) with bright lime green controls as you can see in the picture. (I'll need a separate safe for this one so my Smiths and Walthers don't make fun of it.)

I have more than enough other pistols in it's size, but my HP is standard sized and I don't really have any SAs in that size. (Just starting my rationalization for buying something not on my "watch out for" list...I'm sure I can come up with a better excuse than that.)

Gonna take a couple of days to ship, then the 10 WA wait, then a range report.

I had a steel framed Girsan PI with a straight trigger awhile. It was a fine shooter, with a bit more muzzle rise than a full sized High Power.

Maybe a FtF on the first magazine, but after that, reliable and reasonably accurate. It seemed to like my sordid collection of magazines - MecGar, KRD and assorted surplus magazines way older than me,

The trigger pull was very crisp at the start, but got a bit mushier after 200 rounds. The Turkish internal finishing was adequate and the Cerakote seemed to hold up beyond my expectations. The G10 grips were a nice touch and are great for aiding control.

I cannot say that I have any experience with the zombie green accents.
I hope I never do…

Pair it with a KBAR ZOMSTRO and you're ready for the Zombie Apocalypse!

I have an MC35 PI LW Match - Alloy frame, short slide, straight trigger and no magazine safety. I put a pair of Uncle Mikes rudder grips on it as I wasn’t a fan of the G10 grips that came with it.

It’s been reliable, with a very good trigger by Hi Power standards and makes a superb Hi Power for concealed carry.

I forgot to mention that the "little bit" off the front was a $300 price tag. And that's the real rational behind my Zombie purchase.

Yeah, that kind of price tag can suck you in, but as I am now on SS I look at such deals a bit more closely. I was about to put in my CC details for a 5946 from AIM, but then I realized I was paying over $60 in local tax and shipping, then another $20 at my local FFL. Kinda left a bad taste, so I canceled the purchase.

I have seen the Girsan FN clones a few year ago at the IWA in Nurnberg Germany. They seem to be well made and looked great. I liked them.

Since it is estimated that 8% of the US male population is colorblind (1 in 12) and a can of spray paint is under $5...

Green "highlights" on the controls (even in ZOMBIE! green) would not deter me.;)

I would wonder what else the previous owner might have done to customize his clone, though?

Cheers!
