I have not posted one of my "surveys" in a long time. Please post your favorite non-Smith 9mm handgun. Stories, anecdotes and pictures welcome. I ask because I have three of them and after thinking about the 10 gun post I realized that I cannot decide. A FN MKIII High Power (hunted for one at a good price and dealer finally wore down to my price - no more need to be said, fantastic design and action) , ATI 9mm Commander 9mm 1911 (bought new at a gun show long ago and much, much range time since) and a Beretta 92 (Hunted for a Bertta for years thought about the 1950 models sold online, one day went into LGS and new gun owner sold this back obviously almost mint, I snapped it up at used price and have enjoyed shooting it since). Thank you in advance and safe shooting your favorites!

I really like my Action Works MK3 Hi Power. My Walther PDP F feels like it was made for my hands. I've got small hands.

My favorite non-S&W 9mm handgun is my Tanfoglio Elite Match. It’s a two tone, single action only CZ-75 style handgun and it’s got an exceptional trigger. It’s almost half a shock when I think back… I’ve probably had this pistol almost 15 years now? Wow.

Well, I have three that I really like but you said favorite and that's a problem because they're different:

Beretta 92 (Italian police surplus)

Walther CCP

CZ 75 Compact

The Beretta 92 is the highest capacity and it's my hidden home defense weapon. Very hidden.

The Walther CCP is my usual EDC when I switch from my M649. A couple of extra rounds just in case, easy to shoot, etc.

The CZ 75 Compact replaces the Walther under those circumstances when I want even a little more fire power.

Now a word about the Browning Hi-Power:

I do think that this is one of the most fabulous 9mm pistols ever made and I know there is a lot agreement out there. However, as much as I like it, since it is a single action pistol, I have to relegate it to favorite 9mm toy. I love to play with it but I prefer TDA pistols and even striker fired to single action.

I can't narrow it down to just one, so here's three....

I've been taking my DW Valor VBOB (bottom) to the range more than any other 9mm lately. The build quality is excellent and it's a joy to shoot!

I love Steyr GB's and have owned and shot them for decades. I currently have three! Both Mrs. Chad and I enjoyed shooting the HK P7M8, but I stashed it away after prices went through the roof.

Well, it may not be polished and blued steel with beautiful wood grips, and I've never seen a leather holster for it, but my early Gen 1 Glock 17L is my favorite these days (apologies to my old BHP!).

I must've turned into an old wimp somewhere along the line. I don't have a ton of upper body strength, and I don't like a lot of recoil and blast. This Glock weighs less and is only a fraction of an inch longer than an old standard barrel four-inch K-frame, has the sight radius of a six-inch barreled wheelgun, and has a very smooth trigger with a crisp release. Even with +P ammunition that gets in the high 400 foot-pounds of energy, it's a pussycat. It makes me look like I can actually shoot. It comes out of its kydex Safariland holster faster than anything else I've ever owned and points like a dueling pistol (for me). It's probably not more mechanically accurate than a lot of other 9mms, but it maximizes what I can do with a pistol.

I still like reading about various firearms, especially older ones, but I just don't need anything else.

My edc carry Springfield Range Officer Elite lightweight 9mm (4 inch slide on officers frame. Discontinued).
CZ75 SP01 which went back to CZ custom for the full action treatment.
Walther PPQ M1 - awesome trigger, perfectly placed slide releases (ambi), XS big dot sights and I like the paddle mag releases (also ambi). If I was still in uniform and could select my own duty gun this would be at top of the list.
If I may add a 4th - Sig P210 target - amazing.

I have two 9MM pistols. One is a S&W 39. The other is a Beretta 92F. I have it for a few reasons. One is it was cheap, a Sherriff's Dept. pistol that cost me $200. They were switching to Glock .45ACP's and the Deputy's were able to by their guns for the $200. Two is that I was issued one in the service and had to qualify with it, so I am familiar with it. Three is if the SHTF, then 9MM ammo should not be hard to come by.

Well, I've only got one semi at all now, but I've owned a bunch of them. I think this one would get serious consideration even if it wasn't the only one.

That's my Taurus G3. Not bad at all for an "inexpensive" gun. It was always too heavy for me to want to carry around (15 and 17 round mags) but at the range it just chugged along. Never malfunctioned and I didn't shoot it any worse than I do most any other gun.

Probably not something most people would care for, but for a plumbob like me, it's about perfect.

Well since I only carry a 40sw or 45acp my only 9mm s&w is a 4" compact that may become a carry option one day but my wife has a kimber ultra 1911 that is one of her CC options that I have trigger time with and like it .
