I prefer Smith & Wesson but like Kimber revolvers very much. The original Kimber K6s was a fantastic release. Since then, Kimber released DA/SA revolvers, different finishes, barrel lengths, etc. Have several and find them solid, reliable, and carryable. The K6S variants are compact but heavy. Not a complaint, just observation. Good for appendix carry but not pocket carry. The K6xs (alloy frame) is a much lighter and welcome addition to the lineup. The Kimbers, however, are expensive. The K6xs is competitive, pricewise, with similar Smiths but the regular K6s variants are (in my opinion) overpriced.
I buy the Kimbers when a good deal pops up. This is one such example. A Kimber K6s Custom Defense Pistol (CDP). The folks at Carolina Sporting Arms offered a killer deal for this used but high condition CDP. Only $450. Could'nt drive over there fast enough. I dig it.
Also, CSA called later the same day with my 442UC. Two snubs in one day. Not bad.
