Sig Sauer P365XL Question.
Do all P365XL pistols have XL engraved on the slides?
Why I ask is I have seen some at gun shops with just an X engraved on the slide, sell them as an XL. Any help to
clarify this would be helpful. Thanks for looking. OldYooper

No. XL basically means the frame will do 12 round mags but not 10 rounders. X on the frame might indicate RDS cut?
And a P365X is an XL frame, straight trigger, with short barrel of standard P365. Clear as mud.

365X and 365XL are different models.
Main difference is Barrel length.
365X has a 3.1 inch barrel, XL has a 3.7 inch barrel.
Both come with 12 round flush Magazines.
Higher capacity 365 mags work just fine.
Here’s my 365x with 17 round magazine.

Why do some P365XL have XL printed on the slide?

Because the XL is a XL model. Think Extra Long. Both barrel and grip. Two different models. An X is not a XL.
Follow Pilgrims post. If some gun store is selling a X as an XL they are in the wrong business.

Pilgriim's got it right:
I have the Wilson Combat XL grip module on my X, above. (Mine is cut for a safety, but they come either way.) But I think you could also make the same configuration by putting an XL grip module on a standard 365, regardless of slide markings.

And my X Macro also only has a X.
I don’t see Macro anywhere on the box or the gun.

I have a P365XL and the slide is marked X. I used to have a P365XL that was marked XL on the slide. According to Sig, The P365XL is currently only marked X on the slide. Pretty confusing.

The SIG P365 has morphed & evolved faster and into more sub categories than any other pistol I know of. Just 5 or 6 years ago, Sig had one model and now I have lost track! Along the line, they have come out with slightly different markings, small changes, parts upgrades, etc. so I would think it is possible to find two identical models that are slightly different in appearance.
I bought my P365 about 16 months or so after the original hit the market. I wanted to wait until all the minor kinks were all worked out - which Sig did incredibly rapidly BTW. I now have over 7,000 rounds through mine and as Sig suggests I have swapped out the springs and the striker assy. I had zero issues along the 7,000 round way, but for $100 (bought the parts and did it myself) it was prudent just for peace of mind. I saved all the original parts as an emergency back up.

Thank you for contacting SIG SAUER, the new model/slides on the P365 XL will only include the X markings going forward.
Thank you,
Richard

They kept making it better/Bigger. It seems to me lost the intention of the original, a small compact easily concealable pistol. I kept my original I got less than a year after introduced.
