Sig P365/P365XL magazine questions
I can't find a spare 12 round magazine for my P365XL anywhere. Are they even making them? Seems like shipping the 365XL with one magazine is a ploy for more money on Sig's part. But, I digress. I did find some 10 round magazines for the 365XL. I may have to opt for one of those.
Will the 12 round magazines for the P365 fit the P365XL if I change out the base plate?

Sig and their distributors seem to keep a tight rein on magazines. You may just have to suck it up and get them from Sig.

I just ordered one from gun mag warehouse not 30 minutes ago from posting this. Saved their sites and would check several times a day. Yesterday none. This morning in stock. Grabbed one. Was also watching osage county guns but nothing showed up there. They come with both base plates so will fit P365 or XL models.

Jonzim,
thanks for that info! I had been looking for a 12 rounder for some time and just ordered one. I had found some 15 rounders at OCG about a month ago.
I had heard from Davidson's that SIG Sauer shipped the P365 with one magazine, since they could not produce the mags fast enough to ship the guns with two mags but that they would issue coupons for the second magazine.

I am looking for magazines for the 365 XL, not the 365. Does the magazine for the 365 fit the 365xl if the base plate is changed?

Apparently, they now make a 12 round magazine that fits both the Sig P365 and the 365XL. But it doesn't come up on Sig's website unless you put Sig P365. P365XL only shows in the description. Price is about $50 + $10 shipping. I got one from Atlantic Tactical for $47 shipped. Not sure why a manufacturer makes it so hard to find their products. Maybe they don't want to sell them???? I thought that was the reason businesses exist. Oh, well. That's the world we live in. Customer service, the easiest and cheapest part of business to control, is at an all-time low. Everywhere!!!

I had no problem to navigate through their website and understand their offerings. Also, many vendors give a very detailed description of what they sell.
If you read the last sentence of post #3 carefully, you will find the answer to your question. Reading instead of ranting.

P365 XL’s seem to be really hard to come by right now. 12 roumd mags are spotty along with that - in stock, out of stock, repeat. Supply and demand. Pretty sure you can sign up on a wait list at both sig store and osage,

yes, the 12 round 365 mag will fit the 365XL frame with the flat plate installed, however Sig remains back ordered on them. I've been waiting on their restock for a 365 to XL project.

I got bored yesterday and started "hitting" local gun stores. All three had Sig P365 mags. There were 10, 12 and a very few 15 round mags at all three stores. One is the North Carolina/South Carolina Sig LE Distributor and another is a large Sig-Direct Dealer. The third is a smaller shop, but they had several mags.
I was looking for 15 round P320 mags and they were nowhere to be found.

Yes. The mag comes with both base plates. One for the Regular P365 and one for the XL.

Try ProvenOutfitters - they were in stock last week for $42 - free shipping, IIRC.

Really? Because when I went to their website and put "P365XL 12 round magazine" in THEIR search bar (a pretty simple process one would think) it merely brought up a picture of the Sig P365XL pistol. No "Out of Stock" no "Add to Wishlist", etc... This seems to be the order of the day for many companies, not just Sig. If I go to Amazon on put in the specifications for my vehicle (year, make, model, trim, engine) and search for parts, it will bring up a list of 500 parts that say "Does not fit your vehicle". WHY? What was the whole point of having me put in my vehicle specifics? I thought technology was supposed to make our lives easier?
It is the same in face to face dealings with businesses in a small town that urge you to "buy local". I picked up a whole hog today that was ordered locally June 1st and was supposed to be ready in three weeks. Don't even have time to recount that ordeal!
Businesses today seem to want to make a quick buck and not worry about customer service nor reputation. I understand supply and demand. There is such a thing as losing the deal and then there is losing the customer. One shouldn't have to beg businesses to take our money.
The shop where I purchased my hog, they lost the customer. Never again. No qualms about buying out of town, or at least from a different source in town.

As stated the 12 Round 365 magazine fits both the 365 and the 365XL, usin the extension for the 365, flat plate for the XL. Found the 12 round flat plate in my parts inventory, so just ordered another 12 rounder from Sig today along with a 365XL manual safety frame for my 365MS. Free FedEx shipping if you hit a $100 on the order.

I ordered the base plates from Tactical Development. It fit my 12 rounder. Hopefully the second one will fit the 12 round magazine that I ordered. Makes the mags just a wee bit longer. As soon as the mag arrives, if the TD base plate fits, I will have two flat base plates for the 12 rounders. Is there a market for these?

When did the Sigs start shipping with just one mag?
I bought my 365XL about 3 months ago and it came with 2 mags.

Otis,
I used BING and the search term "sig sauer p365 magazine", second result from top was already what I was looking for and led me to SIG Sauer's website. It has this explanation in the text: "Extended 12-round steel magazine for the P365 and P365XL micro-compact pistols. The 12-Round magazine also ships with an additional baseplate that can be easily installed in order to fit the P365XL."
Sig Sauer
It was really an effortless search to find this on SIG Sauer's website and plenty of vendors came up in the results, too, unfortunately most were sold out but when you consider the popularity of the P365, it is easy to understand that SIG Sauer has a hard time to fill the demand for the P365, guns and magazines alike. I am not sure if SIG Sauer is producing the magazines or if they are outsourced, as it is so commonly done.

One has to first know that the P365 magazine fits the 365XL. Why would one know that if he possesses the 365XL and not the 365?
I searched for "P365XL magazine" both on Google and directly on Sig's website. As stated, nothing popped up on Sig's website with that search term.

correct - because they sell the 365 12 round mag for use with both the 365 and 365XL.
Sig Sauer
DETAILS
Extended 12-round steel magazine for the P365 and P365XL micro-compact pistols.
The 12-Round magazine also ships with an additional baseplate that can be easily installed in order to fit the P365XL.
The 12-Round magazine will be a flush fit in the P365XL and an extended in the P365.

Sig P365 mags are crazy expensive.
Mine only came with one mag. Thought the gun shop may have shorted me, but after checking Sig's site, some come with only one.
Bought 2 extra's and it was close to $100 with shipping.
Found a guy local selling a 365 and had 2 12 round, and 3 10 round mags. Talked him into selling me the 3 10 rounders for $75.00.
Four of mine have the pinky extension, and I'm trying to find 4 flat mag base plates. Sig sells them for the 12 round mags, but told me they wouldn't fir the 10's.
Anyone wanna trade?

I had ordered a magazine from Atlantic Tactical. I get an email after the fact that says the mags are out of stock even though their website says otherwise and that it will take 4-6 weeks. I found one on Osage County Guns. Their website says, under FAQs, "If we say they are "In Stock" they are in stock!". I had mine in three days. I cancelled my order with Atlantic Tactical. AT says they have 600 units coming in.
