Sig P365 at the 7,500 round mark

I've been carry a Macro with safety since late last year. The only mod I've made is Ameriglo sights that my eyes can see...and I've replaced that silly straight trigger with the OEM curved one. Now, that said....

I got my mitts around the new FUSE version the other day. They upgraded the frame texture dramatically. It's fantastic. I hope they offer a safety-version of the model eventually.

I've been carrying a P365, manual safety, night sights, with a Streamlight TLR-6 laser/flashlight in a pocket holster since they 1st were sold. Now I love my Smiths, Colts, and numerous other brands, but the P365 works for me. 12 rd magazine and one in the chamber.

I have learned that all P365 Fire Control Units (FCUs), the part of the gun that is classified as the firearm, regardless of model, are the same. Fitting a manual safety to an FCU, or removing one, is fairly simple. (Instructions on YouTube). I just did this with an extended safety, removing the stock safety and putting in an extended safety.

I have also read that newer grip modules, if not already cut for safety installation, are marked as to where the cut needs to take place.

Does the extended safety allow use of the same holsters as the factory safety?

Depends on the holster brand. Companies like Vedder have different holsters for each. Some companies make a holster applicable to both.

Edit: Vedder offers both. It also depends on holster style.

Mike, I am working on that.

I asked the question to DeSantis re their Viper 2.0 on Thursday. They asked for pix their COB Friday and said they'd respond Monday. I'll come back with what they tell me.

In the case of my Vedders pocket holster, yes, their model for a stock safety fits the extended safety just fine. (I've been pocket carrying. I'm finding that the Galco slide I got, while fine for the range, prints too much for concealed carry. I think this is likely because it is vertical/no cant and I use the larger grip module.)

I'm also considering a Lobo Enhanced Pancake so will likely ask them the question next week, too.

Did not hear back further from DeSantis, but Lobo's Matt explained "It shouldn't be a problem we will put some spacers on our mold gun and mold that area away."

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Lobo Enhanced Pancake. Wait is about 13 weeks. Looking forward to it.

Sounds good. I have a few original examples made by Ray before he sold the company. Fine holsters that are well designed.

In the OP, that proves to me that "practice makes perfect" judging by his three targets. . I also have the P-365 and also the XL. And yes, both are more accurate than I could ever shoot.

I too am a long time revolver guy, bought a P365 X-macro with a Romeo sight factory mounted and never looked back. Liked it so much that I wanted one without a red dot so I bought a P365XL Spectre Comp for when I'm riding my motorcycles. This has been my main carry gun since I left Maine in May.

Never thought I would stop carrying revolvers but I'm sold.

Heard back from DeSantis: "After conducting rigorous testing, our team has determined that the Viper 2.0 holster will not affect either the extended release or extended manual safety features. This means that our holster is fully compatible with your firearm, and you can confidently use it without any concerns."

It'll be a year in May since I bought my P365X, so thought I would post where I am with it.

I removed the extended mag release that led to my inadvertently dropping the mag unintentionally now and then. I've come to the conclusion that needing to reload in an SD encounter is a remote possibility. (I posted elsewhere about taking a course with John Correia, Active Self Defense, who said they had watched ~50,000 videos of civilian SD encounters and only recently found one case, in Pakistan, where a guy with a 1911 had reloaded.)

I have installed the maggutz spring in my two 12-round mags making them 14 rounders, so I carry 15.

Bought a ten-round mag for trips into neighboring Washington state where they have a reduced capacity, 10 rounds, mag requirement.

My extended safety broke. Oddly, the unused right side of the ambi broke off. Waited, unsuccessfully, for a replacement from July or August, but meanwhile the Sig factory safety has become normal for me. No longer a problem.

Got a Lobo enhanced pancake which I like a lot.

I think I've about 2K round through it. No FTFs since my first range visit when I had one FTF, IIRC, which, in retrospect, may well have been due to my unfamiliarity.

I have switched from a revolver hold to the now pretty much standard two thumbs forward hold and it has come to feel natural to me.

Great gun. Glad you fellas talked me into it!
