Question Colt Grizzly and Kodiak revolvers

I’ve been trying to find out what size frame is the New Colt Grizzly? Is it the same as their new python frame? And the Kodiak revolver- is it the Anaconda frame? Anyone know?

Pretty sure they are Anaconda frame size which is larger than the Python. I have a 6" Anaconda .44 Magnum. To me this is a huge and heavy revolver, almost to the point of being unwieldy. However, it's has noticeably less recoil than any .44 Magnum I've ever fired, no doubt due to it's bulk.

I believe the Grizzly is on the Python frame.

Edit: Checking the weight of the Python and Grizzly, they’re essentially the same. The Anaconda is substantially heavier.

Maybe you're right; I'm not much of an expert on anything.

Grizzly is on the Python frame (4.25" Python with unfluted cylinder and porting)

Kodiak is on the Anaconda frame (4.25" Anaconda with unfluted cylinder and porting)

Viper is on the King Cobra frame (4.25" King Cobra with gutter sight and no full lug)

My CZ/Kodiak 4.25" fits fine in my CZ/Python 4.25" holster. I don't have a Grizzly yet but I'd expect it to be the same size as the new Python.

I think that they are all attractive revolvers with that "Python-esque" profile! Both the Grizzly and Kodiak should make excellent sidearms when out in the wilds with the possibility of big cats and bears. I haven't shot any of them yet...how smooth is the trigger pull and double action?

I think they should never have named the Anaconda the Anaconda. Should have named it the Water Moccasin.
There I said it! Been wanting to get this off my chest for years.

I would like to see Colt make a .357 Magnum in the Anaconda frame, ala the S&W .357 magnums. They could call it the Water Moccasin, or Mamba.

How about future models: Copperhead, Sidewinder, Bushmaster, and Adder. I think they need to bring back the Boa, too.

I always thought an unfluted cylinder on a modern double action revolver looked incomplete. It’s like they quit befor they were finished.

I really like my new Anacondas- a lot since I’ve had the SA triggers corrected. Even with those poor SA triggers, those guns shoot extremely well.

I can’t imagine why anyone would want those big revolvers any heavier by not fluting the cylinder.

Hudson River Valley Customs. Awesome to deal with. Grips for a ton of revolvers and autos.

Agreed. And then charge more for less machining/finishing steps.

I had given thought to the viper , but I have a S&W 19 , 2.5" barrel that is " spot on " accurate . I also have RH and LH holsters for it so no need for the colt . After checking the weight of the Anaconda's I decided " No " . They are just a little less than Ruger Redhawk in weight . I willl keep my S&W 29's and forego the Colt Anaconda .
The Anaconda is a fine , very strong well built 44 magnum handgun . Now if they released it in 45 Colt , that would cause me to have 2nd thoughts . Regards Paul
