One of my students sent her Ruger LCP Max back after shooting about 4,000 rounds. The retaining spring that holds in the take down pin had broken and gone flying. I told her to just have Ruger send her a new spring and I'd plop it in for her, but Ruger's CS wanted to make sure that was the only issue - I get it.

Anyway, Ruger sent her a label, she sent it in and had the pistol back 9 days later. They went over the entire pistol, shot 30 rounds through it and found no other issues. They also replaced a magazine for said pistol that had issues with the floor plate dropping off under fire. I personally don't own any Ruger's but they have always seemed to have efficient CS.

They do have great CS. Years ago I bought the Lipsey version of the GP100 in .327 Fed Mag. It was a great shooter but the stocks were loose. That version had a 5" barrel, blued, and wooden stocks. I had to send the gun back because they needed to be fitted to the gun. I also had an issue with an ugly scratch on the barrel. I got the gun back better than new in 11 days. I again had to send it back, I forget what for, but it came back in about 9 days. I ended up trading it in on a 629-6. They gave me about what I paid for the gun new on the trade. I'll not talk bad about Ruger CS, but I do wish I'd have kept that gun! It was close to being S&W pretty.

Yeah buddy

Glad to see they are keeping that up. In my limited experience with them, they showed me what customer service should look like. I had some weak magazine springs in my American 45 so they sent me two replacement mags, and two extra mags for the trouble. At the same time I had ordered a pin for my 57 that I lost and they shipped it to me free of charge with a little goodie pack. I cannot sing their praises enough. They really are the perfect example of prime customer service.

That’s good to hear!
Not sure if I’ll ever get to 4,000 Rounds through my LCP Max, but it’s nice to hear some Positive News regarding CS.

This bears repeating.

The forcing cone on my GP 100, 44 Special cracked. The gun was unrepairable.

In exchange I was told to pick a gun of similar value. I received an SR 1911 Target. Nice clean 4.8 pound trigger. Great adjustable rear sight. Very accurate.

I've never had occasion to use Ruger's CS, but their reputation is excellent. One thing I have heard, though, is that if you send one in with aftermarket parts they will replace with factory originals. The advice is if you have upgraded parts, replace with the factory originals before sending in.
