M-Arms Kratos...possibly the finest modern pistol available

Very nice. There are many full custom 1911 builders charging in the neighborhood of $10-$12000 for their guns these days with many willing to pay the price and wait on a long list until their name comes up.Each to their own. I know of lots of folks who own several full custom builds. Check out the 1911 firearm addicts forum!

It is a target gun. About the finest I’ve ever seen and I’ve got them all.

bc1023, how can you be sure that you got them all? Can you share a bit more how this works? How you keep on top of things so you can make this statement. Thanks!

bc1023 I tend to save any bragging till I know what I can do with any firearm ! Fell free to use a bench rest and support for your bang bang then tell us how well you can do . I have a early M&P 4.25 core with a apex fst trigger kit and there gun smith fit barrel that was easy to fit at home and I can manage 1.20" 5 shot group at 25 yards from a bench and a rest , not bad for an old man . Grandson a little better . Cost was waaaaaaay less too .

I’m educating people on the firearm, like I’ve been doing for decades. I said ransom rest accuracy, which shows what the pistol is capable of.

I was not talking about my shooting skills or anyone else’s. You learn in middle school that in order to measure one variable, you need to eliminate the others. I was not bragging at all about my ability, nor do I shoot handguns 50 meters. That being said, I’m plenty confident I can hold my own. Been shooting handguns four decades.

It was a figure of speech, but yes, I have examples of the best shooting pistols from the past 50 years or so.

I don’t do rimfire, but I used to.

Let’s put it this way, I own all the best shooters and highest quality pistols, so I feel confident shouting out the Kratos.

Yes sir. There are some very expensive pistols available.

I actually helped build that forum. It’s great.

Relly nice

Not into race guns myself but have to say, this model sounds to be really, really nice.

bc1023, are you planning to shoot yours, or it's meant for the collection only? Regardless, seems to be a really fine firearm, congrats!

(and answered my own questions, is made in Slovenia, well done, I did not know there are fine firearms coming out from Slovenia, now I know)

bc1023, Thanks for sharing here and on GT.

You do have some of the best I've seen.
Enjoy !!

Got it. For one, I always enjoy when seeing your posts. Many times, I learned from your posts of models I did not know existed.

Maybe, just a suggestion, if you shoot them, share more photos and impressions, also photos from inside of these high-end pistols when you will have them disassembled to clean. For one, I am sure there are many interesting details there that I won't know about. Like, for example, that ball bushing this Kratos has.

Very few people have these guns so as more information you can share about them, the better.

Thank you. That’s certainly fair

I used to do a lot more of that years ago, to show interesting designs. Kind of gotten away from it. Something to work on.

Yes sir. Hopefully next week.

I wouldn’t call the Kratos a race gun. More like a slick target pistol.

LOL, well, at least we know who makes the money around here :-))) But, good for you and the other guys that do!!

To each their own, but I think I can put together a heck of a gun collection for that amount of money that would still include some REALLY special guns; both, shooters & collectors pieces.

And FWIW, I think that the John Deere is not just an expensive toy, but also a great investment. Although we are shooters and/or collectors, tractors are great at holding their value, and you will always be able to get your money back out of your "toy" if you, or your beneficiaries desire to sell it.
I own a lot of collectible handguns, not just shooters like the Kratos.

These Korths, for instance, I invested a total of $18500 combined 10-12 years ago. They’re now worth $70-$80,000. How’s that for investing? ;)

That extractor is impressive. If the internals are fitted like that, wow.

World’s Largest Safety Award goes to Kratos.

The squared off trigger guard is very 80s. But I like it.

For $7K, Kratos should have asked LPA not to stamp their initials on the rear sight.

Nine Millimeters should all be double stack. If SIG can do it in their tiny little 365, everybody can in everything else.

I catch 7 kinds of something unmentionable for urging people to invest in a $600 Garmin. BC, I don’t understand why there isn’t an angry mob waiting to tar and feather you for the audacity of posting a $7K, single stack 9. lol!
I like your Kratos. It’s only a waste of money if (a) You don’t shoot it, and fondle it a lot, or (b) it goes down in value. I doubt it’ll ever go down in value. In which case, your money has simply temporarily shape shifted.
9mms do not need to be double stack. The 9mm 1911 market is very strong and there are other classics like the Sig P210, S&W 952, etc, that are fantastic pistols.

We all like handguns, nice ones ,what ever your budget allows. There are folks with budgets that would think a $ 7,000 handgun would be cheap and they would buy a $ 21,000 handgun.

It matters not what it costs.

What matters is the person using it.

A person with a $ 10,000 handgun can be killed by a street thug with a Rhom rg 14 that costs $50.00.

Well except I wasn’t discussing the shooter. I was discussing the gun. I think everyone understands the shooter is the biggest variable. Go start your own thread and discuss it.

This really isn’t that difficult.

Do you ever sell anything or just collect/hoard? I fall into the second category and when I tell my SO about how great a deal I got on an item and what it’s worth she asks me what I’ve sold lately. That when I tell her to mind her own business!

I haven’t sold much lately, but I’ve sold some over the years, yes. In fact, I used to have a large revolver collection that I’ve paired down. Made a good deal of profit doing so

I can only say this about that..

If you can afford it and want it...that's great...you should have it.
Just not sure what the practical purpose of having it is....

A $300,000.00 Bentley and a Ford Ranger will both get you to the grocery store and back home.

Yes it is pretty...pretty heavy and expensive.

If it is just to sit in a safe and be looked at and fondled every now and then it's pretty useless.

I personally would rather look at and touch $7,000.00 worth of gold bullion or gold coins.

But that's just me...enjoy it.

Perfection in machining costs money. I suspect in the time needed to make one of these pistols, Glock can make several dozen, maybe even a hundred or more. That applies to many things: cars, watches, homes, you name it. How much one spends for something is a personal matter. One may turn their nose up at a $300 smart watch in favor of a $12,000 Rolex, while at the same time, prefer a $27,000 Kia over a $120,000 Porche. So what?

I would love to see, hold and shoot one of these beauties. I bet it's a joy in every sense of the word. Maybe Santa will bring one if I'm extra good?
