A while back, I started a thread asking for feedback on the Sig P220. Well, long story short, I went with the P227 instead. I have purchased it but have not picked it up yet. Just checking to see if there are any P227 owners out there. If so, do you think I will like my new addition to the collection?

I own a couple of P220's, and they are hands down my favorite semi-autos. I have fired a P227, and found it to be a nice gun, but didn't feel compelled to own one. The P227 is currently not shown on the Sig website. Enjoy it.

I have one with a threaded barrel and it is totally dependable (as are all my Sigs). My only issue is that the double stack magazine makes for a noticeably thicker grip. Like most of the rest of me, my fingers are big around, but not too long.

It sure puts a gracious plenty of .45acp at your disposal, that's for sure!

I have a P227 that I picked up used but in very good condition some years ago. I don't remember how much, just that it was a GOOD price.

To me, it feels very similar to a P226, just a tad bit larger. VERY good feel in the hand, for me at least. I'm not crazy about DA/SA autos, so that feature doesn't do much for me, but both pulls are very smooth and reasonably weighted, certainly fine for a defensive type handgun.

I haven't shot mine much, but with what I have shot, I found it to be very accurate and reliable. One of the most accurate service type handguns I have ever shot, and I've shot a lot of them. Still won't top my older Beretta 92FS for accuracy, but close.

Overall, a good gun, if a little large for the standard 10rd magazine capacity. With how large the gun is, I would have expected 12 or 13 rd magazines. Maybe they kept it to 10 rds to keep the overall size of the butt down? It wouldn't be my first choice to carry, but if forced to carry it, I wouldn't feel bad about it.
