Dug up or not, I bet they all voted.
I think that is the answer. They got tired of voting with the absentee ballot and wanted to go to the polls in person. That is also why most democratic controlled states don't require voter ID. I mean seriously, how much do they look like their driver's license photo?

You may be thinking of the Tri-State Crematory in Walker County, Ga.
They took the bodies and the money, but never bothered to do the cremations. Had bodies scattered around the property. Just gave the relatives a bag of dirt mixed with wood ash.
The jerk served time for it. Had to provide real tight security for the perp, the local LEOs were pretty sure some of the locals were intent on the guy getting what he deserved.
