My 4506-1 45ACP is for self-defense. At the range if I can group inside the size of a coffee cup plate at 20' then I'm happy. Most of the time I can. It sets on a table beside my bed. All I would have to do is reach for it. It is always cocked and ready.

Intruder BEWARE.

What do you use your S & W pistol for? (Self-defense, plunking, target shooting, competition, or all of the above)?

I use my 18 for plinking and semi-serious target shooting. I carry it wrapped in a oiled cloth or in a gun rug when I am out visiting church members. They seem to really enjoy watching me use it in double-action to roll empty drink cans across a open field. With practice, it's not that difficult to do. But it sure looks cool. I originally bought my 6" 28 for hunting small and medium game (hogs... deer) and home defense. I now use a Glock G-22 for HD. My 28 sits in a Tom Threepersons holster by S.D. Meyer. I carry it when hunting. I usually use a rifle or shotgun w/ buckshot. But I just like to have my 28 with me. It has a wonderful double-action and a single-action that breaks like the proverbial glass rod. My 625 (Model of 1988) is my favorite one of the bunch. I will soon buy some sort of good holster that will not rub up the finish. Loaded with 230 gr. JHP, I figure it will be ideal for me to carry when wandering the woods, etc. It is breathtakingly accurate w/ WWB 230 gr. FMJ. I am thrilled with it. Either the 28 or 625 would be fine for HD, but I bought the Glock G-22 since it is the heaviest caliber that my wife could reliably handle. She has become quite proficient with it at across the room distances. She found it hard to fire either the 28 or 625 in double-action. I figured it was best to have a pistol that she could rather than insisting that she accommodate herself to my preferences. Sincerely. brucev.

my cs45 is for concealment,self def.,& range.like american express(which i don't have) " NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT "..................

The M&P9 is the house gun. The M&P45C is the winter concealed carry gun. The 60LS with Crimson Trace is a semi-retired carry gun. The 637 is the snakeshot gun. The 65LS is a pet. The 28-2 is a pet right now because it hasn't yet been shot by me.

Gun Use...

I have 3 guns. 1.Rossi 38 Special Snub Nose 2.S&W SW9VE
3.S&W 380 Auto.. I use all of them for personal defense and target shooting recreationally.

I just plain old like to hear 'em go BOOM!!!!!!!!!! and see little holes appear in various and sundry oblects, or even better see stuff vaporize :D

Keep my pants from ridin' up under my arm pits.;)

I grew up around guns. Carried one as an LEO and never could break the habit.

A gun is a part of getting dressed in the morning.

Summer time its a J frame, winter it's a K frame, goin' to the ranch, it's an N frame.

If the good Lord had wanted me to fight like a dog, he would'a given me fangs and claws.

My 4506's are carried when walking the dogs and take turns as my bedside weps, all of my S&W's have a purpose in my defense plans.

I use my 3913 as my main CCW. It is also my HD gun until I can get a 5906 or M&P9.

I use my different models for all purposes. Today I'm carrying my 645, yesterday it was the 3913. I have 8 different S-W autos (nothing compared to some of you!) and I shoot/carry all of them.

Or in my case, BOOM... squint ... no hole, scrach head & cuss ... repeat.

1006

I keep my 1006 locked & loaded just in case one of those killer racoons shows up to eat the cat food on my back porch.

My 41 is my backup gun for my 617 (the 41 doesn't get a whole lot of use =), and my 422 is my warmup gun for my 617 (the 422 only sees about 20 rounds per range trip).

I have a bunch of Smith revolvers, no S&W autos.

The J-frame Bodyguards are my usual carry guns.

The K-frames are sometimes carry guns and plinkers. If I start shooting IDPA again the K-frames will get some use there.

The N-frames are plinkers, hunting guns, and the ones I shoot most in steel plate matches. Shooting my .41 Magnums with 230 grain LSWC reloads in plate matches is a real hoot.

No L or X frames in the collection as yet.

Home protection, carrying, and plinkin'. And having a good day at the range where everything clicks is one satisfying experience, isn't it?
