FedEx guy thinks he is doing recipient a favor by leaving item with no signature. Knows that recipient is anxiously awaiting item. Most people don't want to wait all day for delivery to occur. Ends up getting his nads jammed because someone wanted to sign for the package.

Yes it is inconvenient. None us however want to see the "Child Swipes Gun Left On Doorstep by Fed-X!" story on FOX News, or any other media outlet, and the resulting hysteria. Imagine Sean Hannity ragging on and on about that. Stuff like that will lead to more restrictions being placed upon us and further erode our second amendment rights. I much prefer the little inconvenience that you mentioned.

I did not intend to make this a political thread. In response to posts made about a Fed-X driver leaving a 15-22, I assume in a box like mine saying SMITH & WESSON on it in big block letters, unattended on a doorstep instead of having the recipient sign for it as instructed, I made a relevant comment about how bad it would be for gun rights, if Sean Hannity went to town on FOX News, about some child swiping that package off a doorstep and what could have happened.

Now in retrospect, I suppose I should have said the same referencing Keith Olberman or some other arrogant, smarmy, smart ash liberal instead, because Gunzilla, took personal umbrage about me using FOX, instead of CBS, or one of the other electronic sewer pipes.

So then I also pointed out, that all media sewer pipes are just that, and none are any better or worse than any of the others. Some people, cannot or will not see the obvious, and the PC Police are the PC Police, no matter what "side" of the divide they think they are on.

You can just mush your dog sled upstream, and go see "the scene of the crime" for yourself, if you like.

Instead of a new message I'll post here and mention that I'm a new user and just last night 'paid for' my new 15-22! After reading thru a few threads about the problems everyone's been having, I was actually happy they didn't have one in stock to give me right away. They said they get them directly from S&W and so maybe they'll send me one that has some specs already updated??? Or maybe they'll just send me the 2 free mags right away knowing I'll be sending it in soon

Anywho, it's my first rifle (have 9mm pistol and 12ga shotgun) and so look forward to finding the right ammo, having fun on the range, and then finding a scope of some sort (need to find info on this) for squirrel and rabbit hunting!

Anywho, I hope to be reading some good threads and contributing now and then! Thanks!

Ha, yeah the first 4-5 pages were fun to read but then I had to start skipping some posts and was surprised it was still going on on the last page.

To get even more on topic I would love to know if the OP's is still working well after getting it back. I was real happy to hear all the replies about people having good luck sending them in and getting them fixed and returned in a timely manner. That made me feel better about the purchase.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new 15-22. You got it for a good price with the discounts.

As far as progress with the 15-22, I have had only one failure to eject in over 700 rounds since getting it back from S&W. Very pleased and it is a fun gun to shoot. It will shoot even better with some trigger work, as I have a Rock River NM 2 stage in it. Better than the OE trigger.
