What causes the hammer to rub the case finish off on the right side. Is it contacting the frame?I have seen a few like that at the shows so am curious.
Thanks

This would be caused by the sears not being square with one anothet & or excess play side to side in the hammer window..
Both problems can be fixed..
Stone the sears or shim the hammer..
Hope to hear what others have to say.

My 10-8 had hammer rub on the left side due to a burr on the frame. I just stoned down the burr and all has been well since.
If you are comfortable with removing your side-plate, pop it off and see if there is a raised or sharp area where the rub is occurring.

Gary is right, but the shim is the easy way to do it, Brownells has them.

"HINT" if you are left handed the right side of the hammer will rub :D .
