I see them at gun shows for around $5, but it’s not worth the parking and admission if that’s the only reason you’re going. You might also consider a Bianchi Speed Strip. Both the gun and the reload should be on her person, not in her purse.

If you do get her one, go with the Comp 1 plunger model...the knob type in a purse might release at the wrong time...

I just bought a couple of these and a couple of speed strips from Midway.

Send me a reminder email sometime after April 1st - when I'll have my household goods again - and I'll give you an HKS one gratis. Midway has them, as does Gander Mountain and most gunshops, or at least the HKS ones anyway. I've got half a dozen or so of them laying around that I've gotten with guns in trade. I rarely if ever use them or carry them thus can easily spare one if you don't turn up elsewhere first.

Like most reloads, speedloaders are best carried in a dedicated pouch or container, or at least always kept in the same place/position.

I went to the links and neither one mentioned the S&W 649 though they did say S&W 5 shot J frames. I'd hate to order one and not have it work. Anyone know if these standard models will work with my 649?
