I have a 4" 625 that I'd like to be able to carry, I'm looking for recommendations for a pancake-style holster. I don't have any really good holsters (yet) so I'm pretty ignorant about holster manufacturers.

Thanks,
Lou

This is a pancake by Simply Rugged for a 4" N Frame. Carries very well.

I use a Haugen Leather Large Magnum Carry holster for a 3 inch 629 and 24. With a good belt they carry well and really not that had to hide.
I liked the design well enough I had one made for a 686 plus snub.

They've made a number of holsters for me and do good work at decent prices.

I second the Kramer especially their horsehide version. Always check that the belt fits the holster slots securely.

SimplyRugged is darned hard to beat for price/quality/performance. It is the best way I have found ro carry an N-frame concealed or in the field.

There is also fellow forum member lobo gun leather. I have a couple of his IWB's and was very pleased. Look in the concealed carry section and you will see a thread where people who have his holsters talk about them.

Here's another endorsement for Simply Rugged...I've got three of Rob's holsters and they are awesome!

Another for Simply Rugged. Top notch people, top notch product, very fair price. Very fast on the draw, very secure, and as I have posted in other threads, I carry my 3" 629 under a loose shirt and the gun is invisible. I have a Roy's Original also, which is a great piece of leather, but the Simply Rugged beats it hands down.

Best of luck!

There are some really great holster makers out there, but Simply Rugged is very hard to beat for what you want. I have one for my Ruger Alaskan and it carries so well that it is almost my EDC.
