Yep, I'm banned....

From the upstairs that is...:)

I'm officially a cellar dwellar. My computer, my reloading stuff, my guns, all the whole kit'n'kaboodle has been moved into the basement.

On the plus side, I finally have all the room I need to spread out and relax....

On the down side.....

Well there really isn't any....:D

Consider your self blessed. I have a 24 X 24 room that is MINE. It has a few guns in it, my computers, a flat screen tv, my desk, a fireplace, several bookcases, a small refrigerator, a wet bar, two telephones, a few swivel office chairs, a trash can and nobody is telling me what I need to be doing.

The lady that lives here just to deplete my bank account and make my life miserable has a 24 X 24 room that has tv, couch, chairs, a fireplace, a telephone and a dish full of candy so I am not needed in there either.

You will be happier now.

Welcome to the sub world of men. My wife has the upstairs with the family.
I have the basement with my weights, guns, model trains and a refridge full of adult beverages.

mmmmm. I think its a process that some of us need years to get right. Mine started probably 30 years ago. My garage was tiny and it was cold. So I just brought in some greasy old jeep parts so I could work on them inside in the winter and in AC in the summer. OK, maybe I wasn't the neatest worker, and a few hundred times I didn't bother to clean up the parts before quitting for the day.

Then 15 years ago, we moved. She said I could have the entire garage as long as I kept all the jeep parts outside. Sounded good. Not as good as having it indoors, like inside the house, but no interference either. But then I went and screwed it all up and bought her a convertible. She moved into the garage too, but insisted I still keep my end of the bargain.

But in this new house I wanted a gun room. As in concrete. When I meekly asked for a 10 x 10 room, she even agreed that 10 x 20 sounded better. Still not as good as the OPs 24 x 24, but good enough for me.

I wish i had a mancave ..'sniffles' or even a basement , I had to relocate my reloading stuff to my buddy's mancave (which is bigger then his house) . On the plus side since I drive the 20 miles to his home he usually buys the beer for after reloading relaxation .

after reviewing the various responses, I can see I need to look into reopening the blocked off fireplace, acquiring a small referigerator, and really not much else...

I am blessed...... note the signature line......

Last fall, I finished the 17x20 addition that my adult daughter promptly dubbed "Buck's Bunker". First time in 46 years that I have been able to get all the guns, safes, reloading, gunsmithing, and storage into the same space. Mini-split AC/heat, outside and inside entrances, decent attic storage - I should have done this a long time ago. :)

I told my wife several years ago that the house reflected her, not us. Everything I loved was in either the basement or the garage. Things have been better since then.

So, you're not allowed in the house anymore?

I am sure sorry for you guys. Our whole house is largely a communal cave. Man stuff goes wher I want and woman stuff goes where she wants. My wife has never criticized me or complained about buying guns, ammo or other essentials. She wants drapes or couches etc., she knows how to write a check. I wish it worked that way for you.
