I finally listened to that little voice...... (NEW SHOES)

..... that says "go ahead, they might have something this time".

I was on my way to the rez when I heeded that voice and turned into a little pawnshop that has never had anything but new Hi-Points and beat up Marlin Model 60s.

There on the shelf amongst the dreck was this very nice looking 3 1/2 inch 27-2, wearing N frame non-diamond football relief targets. Pardon the lousy cell phone picture for now, but the screws are un-messed-with, the finish is 98% plus, and the action is smooth and strong. N607450 puts its about 1979, when I was a dark haired, flat bellied college student with Dark Side of the Moon blasting out of the turntable.

I'll probably flip this for something else, so I'm not going to out myself on the price, but I will say they used a 1999 Blue Book to price it, and came down a hundred bucks from that.

I thought these all came with the white outline and red ramp, but this one is all black. Sorry, just had to brag.

Nice Pick-up!

The 3-1/2" is my favorite M27-2. I've got a pre-Model 27 with a 6-1/2" bbl, and a 6" 27-2, but there's just something about the looks and feel of a 3-1/2". Mine, ca. 1971, also has all black sights- no RR or WO. A few forum members will tell you that it should have magna grips, but I really like the targets. They'll also tell you that the 5" bbl. is the optimum Model 27, but make up your own mind. I hope you'll shoot it, because it's loads of fun. Enjoy!

Thanks for the kind words. If I keep it I'll probably put some magnas and a Tyler T grip on it. I have this one's 1940 non-registered grandpa and that's the set up I have on it.

Here's a better look. Any blemishes are the fault of my shoddy photography - the gun itself is pretty clean.

The grips are either mismatched or the right one has faded from the sun.

I guess the moral of this story is to even check the hole-in-the-wall places. I've been stopping in this joint every now and then for two years and this is the first decent thing they've had.

Its growing on me. I had qualifications yesterday and after I was done with the Germans I got a chance to put fifty rounds through it. As expected it functioned flawlessly and could easily keep all of its shots in the brain box on the target at 15 yards (as far as I could shoot with other quals going on).

Nice gun! My recent 10-2 score was also at a pawn shop where they are over priced and usually jerks. The gun hadn't even been wiped off, lots of grime, but the trigger gave away the potential. They came down from $359 to $275 out the door, she cleaned up great and damn she's a shooter. I learned my lesson about completely writing a shop off.

Yep, its a 10mm. It only has single and two-shot burst, but its still loads of fun. You can pull the trigger fast enough on two-shot to keep about 20 cases in the air at once.
