I love the 6906! That was the first sidearm issued to me as a Police Officer...I was actually sad when we switched to the HK USP. It was perfect for carry on and off duty. I wish they let us buy the old ones when we switched but they are probably sitting somewhere collecting dust!

My only S & W semi-auto 39-2

I have no idea how old this gun is, but I know its over 35 years old and in great shape w/ box. Its nice to shoot also. Am I correct in assuming that the A 441644 on the side is the serial #.
Any information is welcome.

It sure is pretty. The book says 1977-1978.

Palmetto Sharpshooter

Thanks for the reply.. I traded a beat up Winchester 62 for this at a gun show, in about 1978. I never knew if it really was brand new or not. Its still like it came out of the box new.

Its a great shooting little gun.

The 6906 is one of my carry favorites because it conceals easily.

These are my 4006 and 5906.

The 4006 is nearly like new condition with Houge grips and night sights.

The 5906 had some slight surface damage to the upper right side of the slide and rear sight as well as the decocking lever, so I filed, sanded, and polished the entire slide.
Wondering now if I should just go ahead and finish the fram the same way, or leave it two-toned.

Here's my Model 41. Being a southpaw I couldn't find any target grips, so I made my own.

I just bought my second S&W semi-auto, a 5" M&P 9 Pro, but I haven't taken any pics yet.
