Has any one had a chance to see one of these in person or actually own 1 or 2... would love to here a review on them

I don't own one, but I don't like the fact that the mounting bolt is straight slot. I would prefer hex head and wouldn't want to spend the extra time to hunt down a replacement bolt.

Other than that, seems fine. I've never seen a bad/poorly made MAGPUL product.

A lot of times they do that because it can be easily removed in the field without a special wrench... most people have a screw driver in their bag.. I was more interested in the quality and function...

I received mine two weeks ago in the mail, after waiting almost a year for it. It's definitely a hefty piece, very well made and you would never have to worry about breaking it. The finish is wearing a very little bit on the inside of the loop. But thats to be expected on a high wear/friction item. It's nothing major.
If you have the matching Magpul MS2 sling, you need this piece.
Before the RSA came out I bought a cheap, clamp on sling swivel. It was way too big for the "front clamp" on the MS2, making for a very sloppy sling attachment.

However, the RSA works perfectly for the two point configuration. Just enough movement/rotation when you are moving the rifle. That being said since the sling clip can rotate slightly, you can't put rail guards right up tight to mount. Theres a video on YouTube that explains what I mean, just type in Magpul RSA.

Overall I'm very happy with the purchase. I love Magpul products and would definitely buy another when I get an AR.

I just received mine yesterday from Brownells, and I'm glad I waited. Its everything you would expect from Magpul, simple, strong, first rate all the way. Perfect companion to their sling.

Like Belt Fed said, they use slotted heads so you can use a quarter, a knife blade, the flat blade screwdriver on your multitool, anything on hand to get it off and out of the way or clamped down tight.
