In the fairly recent move "The A Team", Liam Neesen, as John "Hannibal" Smith, wore a leather shoulder holster that appeared to have wider straps in the front, coming up over the collar bone and around the neck. Is this a Hollywood version of what a special ops shoulder holster looks like or is it a military spec type holster of days gone by? Does anyone know if this type of open carry style shoulder holster is available?

Well.... after a bit of shoulder holster research, for what it's worth I found my own answers. Desantis makes a rig called the New York Undercover rig; Galco's version is the Classic Miami rig. Both are somewhat similiar to the movie's shoulder holster as worn by Liam Neesen.

Alpo.... you got it! Thanks. That was the pic I had looked at but wasn't sure about posting it due to copyright issues. I guess as long as I had referenced the movie I would have been ok.

No. Many of us never saw the movie. But I think that posting a link to the photo is okay? Moderators? Lee?

Looks like a Galco Miami Classic.... I have one for my Beretta 92FS. Nice rig, just a little cumbersome in Miami.

Funny you should mention a movie shoulder holster. I always wondered what Bruce Willis wore in Die Hard 4 "Live Free or Die Harder". Guessing it might have been a Miami Classic as well, look like it was pretty comfortable.

The above link in fine.

The rules prohibit posting copyrighted material (text, photos, etc..), but you may link to it when pertinent to a discussion. This thread explains the policy better than I can:

Links are not always OK. News links are frowned upon and links to other forums or websites are prohibited without prior approval from the owner. It's all covered here:

Google F.I.S.T. holsters in Brooklyn, NY. I'm looking at a vertical from then as they make horizontal and vertical rigs. They look nice and no belt strap is required as the vertical shoulder holster has a pull through design not a lift out. They are not cheap compared to some others.

Thanks for all the comments, suggestions on holsters and the references to posting etiquette for material that may be copyrighted. Phil

Was that the one where they were stealing the gold with the bomb scare? That was a Miami Classic. It must have been really loose, though, since he fired about four rounds while it was still holstered. In the elevator, casually reached over like he was scratching himself and shot the guy standing next to him, under his arm, while still holstered.

No the gold heist was in Die Hard 3 w/Samuel L. Jackson. "Live Free or Die Harder" w/Justin Long as his side-kick, and was about a "Fire Sale", where the crashed computer networks for Wallstreet, energy companies, street lights, etc. If I remember correctly, the shoulder holster looked like it had a 4-leaf clover with a unicorn in the center.
