My choice of filing, didn't use an actual dremel. i wanted more control of the filing.
Front sight comparison. Not 100%, i wasn't able to file the 'stem' of the factory sight. but u get the idea of how much a difference there is.
i can already feel the difference in alignment
waiting for a visit to the range

I am glad now that I ordered the Hi-Viz via Amazon. It should be here in a week or two, with free shipping.
The reason I said that I am glad is that when I did a close inspection of the inside of my slide, I noticed that the glue they used to secure the sight, is starting to peel at the edges. This pistol is still almost new. I am sure that it will hold up just fine. Perhaps I got some cleaning solvent on the cement and did not wipe it off well enough. The edges are peeling so I have no doubt that I could probably pull the sight off without use of tools, if I so desired.
I think that the Hi-Viz sight will be a nice enhancement to an already great little pistol.

I believe that the different models pertain to size. Some are higher or fatter than others. I am waiting for a GL2006 model that I ordered from Amazon for $26+ with free shipping. It should be here today or tomorrow. Someone else posted using that particular one, so I figured that I couldn't go wrong. I believe that the 2006 is shorter than the stock sight so I may be able to bring my aim up. It seems that everyone that shoots my 9ve tends to shoot a few inches low. Maybe this will bring it up a bit. Better eye sight would also improve my accuracy. I am thinking of buying a special pair of eye glasses just for my serious plinking. I don't need too much pin point accuracy to hit 8" disks at 35ft though. It's those darn paper targets that require better sight alignment.

Okay, so I went though the whole thing but I (think I) only saw the front sight being replaced.......
Has anyone also done the rear sight and if so, which system did they get and installed?
I would like to also replace the rear sight if that is possible with a high visibility one. I have had Lasik surgery done to my eyes last year, and though far away (probably 3-4 feet and beyond) I feel I am at 20-20, up close (needed when focusing on the front sight on target.....) the sight is currently a blur (that is for any sight, not just the Sigma one....)! The higher visibility I think might help out with this.
Anyway, if anyone has done it or knows which would work I would love to hear about it and maybe even see some pictures. I am definitely doing at least the front sight for sure!

That isn't a gun problem. You need some shooting glasses with a "computer glasses" prescription in them so you can focus on the front sight and let the target go blurry. I've been using such glasses for years, and they make all the difference in the world shooting IDPA and USPSA. I like the "computer glasses so much I routinely wear them indoors all the time so I can see things up close.
As an aside, if I were to have lasik surgery, I would have my eyes corrected for focus at one meter, and wear glasses for distance vision, not get them corrected for infinity focus. Most of what I need to see clearly during my typical day is within arms length. I have heard many nearsighted people who got lasik complain of your problem when they suddenly become farsighted. The old lens just can't "accomodate" or focus back and forth like it did when we were 20 years old, so basically we older folks only see clearly at one distance without glasses; that's why they make bi and tri focals.
