Ruger has gone and done it now!!!

TRUE, there is no automatic 4th amendment waiver that comes with a NFA stamp....
Shooting with silencers is fun....

I'd have to agree with this, it sure is fun:

So..in order to keep from waking the neighbors you open yourself to anytime inspections by the ATF? What am I missing?

As others have pointed out this is not true.

The misconception comes from the fact that dealers who are specifically licensed to be in the business of buying and selling NFA firearms are subject to inspection and record keeping checks.

Individuals who own NFA firearms on form 4's are not. They do the background check, you pay your transfer tax ONCE and you're done.

Also, Form 4's are privileged tax records and even law enforcement can't force you to produce them without cause. But, it's a good idea to show photo-copies when asked to avoid hassles.

Exactly. I have 4 NFA tax stamps, including the one for this suppressor.
I always take a copy of the tax stamp with me when I'm out of the house with one of the registered weapons. The originals stay in my safe.

OK OK, I.........I............like...............it! There! I said it-now LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Not so fast....
I'm counting on you to help me out with some tactical ideas to fill that bare spot under the barrel.

Unless it's a GP100 or Redhawk, I don't pay attention to much of anything new from Ruger. I love my Rugers, got dozens of them, but their new offerings haven't excited me.

If tactical .22's help them stay in business, more power to them. If I want to help Ruger, I'll go out and buy another new GP100.

I have a threaded barrel for my 10-22. I use the suppressor I bought for my AR on it. Lots of fun. The squirrels don't know what's after them.

If there is any federal weapons law that makes no sense it is the NFA restriction on suppressors. Oh, and automatic opening knives. Never mind, the list goes on and on.

I picked up one of the threaded ones with sights, rather than rails, with the idea of getting a can for it at some point. Most of the modern .22 suppressors are small enough in diameter to work just fine with the sights, which are a bit higher than the standard MkIII sights, I think. Just coincidentally, this little gun has the best factory trigger of any Ruger .22 pistol I've ever owned or shot, breaking at a very crisp 3.25 lbs. It also is extremely accurate, easily putting CCI Mini-Mag HPs into about 1.5" at 25 yards. It is my only MkIII, and I don't care for the goofy loaded chamber indicator or the magazine "safety," but otherwise, I am quite impressed with it.

Oh for goodness' sake...

For the mall ninja on a budget.:D

Mine came with a bolt on rail for a scope. I believe the threaded barrel would get lots of attention here in the People's Republik. ;)
