Wallace is a standard Rat Terrier (terrorist) who was 17 when this picture was made.

He will be 21 this year and except for a little more gray, he's still going strong.

I love a good dog thread and this one's a dandy. Here is Barney and Squirt with their summer shave. The first pic is Squirt after I groomed him a couple weeks ago. Barney's hair is thin and silky but Squirts is thick and coarse. He was miserable in the 80 degree days of early April and our groomer stays booked 2 weeks in advance so I gave it a go. He liked it even if my wife didn't.

It's been just over a year and a half since we lost Rufus to an untimely meeting with a pickup truck (my son snapped this shot one day when he was napping in the sunlight, he opened his eyes for a second, then went right back to sleep).

Just today we were looking at a rescue shepherd mix. Not sure she is the one for us, but my wife and I both feel it is probably time for the next one.

Yep,I never thought I'd be safe with a short hair for home defense either.My Schnauzer will point and my sheepdog will fetch.No sport in them dogs.Dogs can multi-task.

Roxy turned 11 yrs in January. She spent her first 5 years living with me in Peru and now at Lake Tahoe.

This is Iris and Heidi. Iris will be 16 next month. She is the best pointing dog I have ever hunted over. And I have hunted with pointers all my life.
Heidi has the most personality of any dog I have ever had. A true best friend.
