I recently traded into a new Glock Model 36 .45 acp with single column magazine. I have owned many Glocks before and never had any problems with them feeding any type of ammo.....until now. This Glock will not feed Federal Hydroshocks out of the mag. The bullet profile is so squared off and has such a big hollowpoint it hits the front end of the mag and will not feed. I looked at regular Federal High Shock ammo and it has the same profile minus the Hydra Shock center post. Has anyone else encountered this problem with a Glock Model 36, or do you have any recommendations for hollowpoint ammo with a more rounded bullet profile? Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Steve - while I won't say that you will not get a satisfactory answer here this is probably best asked at the Glock forum - not that a S&W fan wouldn't have a Glock or two[maybe even three or more]!

That is one nice thing about Cor-Bon Powerball ammo. It has a hollowpoint with a nylon ball stuffed into it, makes it easier to shove the bullet into the chamber

glock 36

i have a 36 and carry fed hydrashocks in it and never had a problem, may need new mag springs or new mags.

These are brand new mags that are having the problem. The springs are very strong. I purchased the Glock brand new and also bought four more new mags.

Thanks Bill. We have a local gun show coming up and I'll be on the lookout for some Corbon ammo.

Now this is weird. I unloaded the hardball from my mags and reloaded them with the Federal Hydroshocks. They fed fine. I'm either losing my mind or there was a burr on something.

I have a Glock 30SF that takes them fine, but the 30 is double stack so that probably makes a difference. I use Double Tap ammo for almost all my pistols and love it. I also like Elite Ammunition, especially for my FN Five-Seven. Just something to think about. Good luck !!

I had a Glock 36 not too long ago with the same problem. I did a bunch of research on it and found that this was pretty wide spread on the G36. I lost confidence in the gun and traded it as fast as I could.

If everyone disassembled their new mags, cleaned and dried all parts, checked the lips for nicks and burrs, BEFORE using them, we would have a lot fewer posts like this.

My 30SF works flawlessly with any ammo. I shoot Double Tap ammo mostly, but I have shot alot of different ammo through it. Is there really much difference in the Glock 36 and the 30 SF? I have the 29 and 30 SF (short frame) and they feel great, but I do have kinda big hands. I got the 9x25 Dillon drop in barrel w/ compensator for the 29 and it is a BEAST! Good luck man.

Tested the Glock again today and it is now feeding the Hydroshocks fine. Must have been a burr on the mag/mags. First time I have ever had that happen on any Glock mag, but I guess it can happen.

Newer HydraShoks have a more rounded profile than originally. Were you perhaps cleaning up old stock during breakin?

Golden Sabres have a profile very close to ball and feed in some problem guns, but I expect a Grock to feed nearly anything.

Molded plastic parts can have 'feathers' attached that fall off after a bit.

Just some rambling thoughts. :)

Pat
