handloads and friends

You'r handle sure fits.

I like Hornady 125 JHP/XTP.

Placement of first round and recovery is the deciding factor for me.

Welcome.

Thank you for your suggestion, sir. I am constantly devouring more information on this issue and during many years, have done the same. However, getting sidetracked into the political 'gun fight' for some 41 years tends to diminish one's memory of just what was what.

Having said that, before I leave this world, I still have hopes of remaining active with some firearms and only time will see how that wish transpires.

Again, my thanks -- and take care.

Here ya' go - the Second Amendment forum. Have fun!
2nd Amendment Forum

Thank your for that information -- and I will give it a try -- the reason I was concerned is that, being a Canadian, I was not sure if I should presume to speak on your 2nd Amendment.

On the plus side (in my opinion) having never been beaten in any public/political debate on the issue of 'guns,' I may well have some approaches to the subject that would be of interest to some of you below the border.

Although our political systems may vary, I have refused over the years to discuss 'the legal aspects' of firearms legislation because, not being trained in law, that leaves me open to very pointed rebuttals, preferring instead to take the approach that under either your social/political/justice system, or ours: "It is not a proper function of the law to place a peaceful person pursuing peaceful activities in jeopardy." And I refuse to move away from that starting point. In doing so, I have forced the 'opposition' to debate what law should do in our society and it has constantly put them on the defensive.

I simply progressed from that premise to more precise comments. So, if you believe I could offer anything new to your 'gun control' situation, please let me know.

Bear in mind, I am next to illiterate with computers, so one has to bear with my lack of skills in this arena.

Thank you for your comments -- and take care -- and I will await a response before 'jumping into the 2nd Amendment issue.'

I must add that, being not too far from the end of my time, I cannot resist constantly putting forth my views, in the hopes that some day, somewhere, they may well serve the purpose for which I have meant them for some 41 years.

Sir, with the above concise yet profound statement, you have furthered your purpose. My thanks.

Thank you, sir and anthing I can offer in the way of 'arguments,' be they pro-gun, pro-hunting, or with respect to general political/social disputes on the matter of firearms, I would be most happy to forward.

I spent 41 years up here in that arena; learned from scratch; was a quick learner (thank goodness); debated on the various media outlets; publicly and politically, and on many cross-country tours -- one on one and quite often one on up to five -- had to learn.

In the beginning, I used to go home and count the funny little holes (figuratively speaking), but did learn fast. A record I am proud of is that I was never bested in any of those debates.

However, that is just some background and, because I am from 'north of the border' and our situations (in the social/legal) sense differ, I resist entering into your 2nd Amendment discussions because some may find that 'outside intrusion' offensive.

However, as I said, I am not bashful about entering into any debate on this matter -- regardless of where I may be.

Thank you for your comment -- and best of luck in your endeavours with your political/social problems.

Again, my thanks for your positive response.

I would ask that you, being more acquainted with various views on this matter from your end, would advise me if I should or should not (as an 'outsider') enter into discussions on your 2nd Amendment -- my wish is to not be seen as 'a nosey intruder,' for lack of a better term and do feel whatever you can tell me could be of great help.

Regards,

Bill
