Tebow

The kids a winner. I aint watched much NFL lately, but they should design more plays around him and let him do what he does. Maybe They have, but the game i watched it seemed they were utilizing him as a different type qb than what he is. Im a Tennessee vols fan and watched him play a lot in his college years and as much as i hated Florida, you couldn't help, but love watching this guy play. Also a great all around guy. CLASSY

It isnt that Bronco's coaches should design plays for him, its teams having to design plays against him.

OK I'll say it. Nothing wrong with the boy-nothing at all.
BUT......
I am not one to wear my faith on my sleeve and I think all this genuflecting and "praising God" he and other athletes do is nothing more than self aggrandizement at its' worse. And I really mean that.
I am a firm believer in Matthew 6:1-8; 16-18 and Tebow is one of the worst offenders in my book.

On point biblical reference. I agree 100 % but still love Tebow.

I respectfully disagree sir. I believe he is one of the truly Genuine players who have no remorse for showing his faith "Anywhere". I think it's a safe bet you won't see him Kneeling after a touchdown in a game then see his mug shot the next week after being arrested for drugs/solicitation, etc...
He should not stop, or apologize, showing his appreciation for his God whenever he pleases. Wonder if we would be having this discussion if he we're Muslim and had to lay out the prayer rug on the sidelines?? Just MHO

Timmy

vrichard, and the rest of you Tebow knockers,

How did "Timmy" do? If we were all half the man he is it would be a better world.

Show them all Tim! He is what sports needs right now. For me, I am sick of the diamond ear rings, and the hair sticking out of the back of the helmets. And for you all that speak of Johnny U, I personally knew Johnny. Heck, he sat at our Thanksgiving Day table with my family and would sack out on the couch and watch football. He was just a good hard working man that lived in Baltimore and played ball on Sunday. He would have liked Tebow. Johnny played when football was a sport and not a business.

From a purely "technical" standpoint, Terry Bradshaw was a disaster. Bernie Kosar wasn't very pretty either. Heck, look at old films of Johnny U. Not exactly a pocket passer.

I am a Road Warrior and listen to a lot of Sports radio. Tebow was labeled to be fragged from the beginning. Then it became a Dog Pile. All the stations chimed in because it got reaction. And reaction equals ratings equals advertising dollars.

He has no skills...they have to design offenses around him (duh!)... the quality of opponents is bad... you name it, he was (and still is) lambasted by it.

I'm not a big fan of the current NFL and don't really give a care who wins what. But I have to believe the Tebow thing is because of the way he proudly displays his religion. Come to think of it, not unlike Muhammad Ali.

Who will be Tim Tebow's Howard Cosell? ;)

Isn't Tebow still considered a rookie? Even if not I wonder how many QB's have done what he's done at this stage in his career? Not as good as Tom Brady or Adrian Rogers? I guess not. At this state in their careers, they were still working with the practice squads and holding clipboards on gameday.

I too listen to a lot of sports talk radio. When the talking heads first started to take notice of the "Tebow thing" they tried to discount it. Then they kept moving the bar. Well he can't do this...well, he can't do that...he can't win his division...he can't win a playoff game...I guess this week he'll have to win the superbowl before he'll be considered a success....no, then he'll have to back it up and win another one.

The kids a winner. And it has nothing at all to do with football.

CajunBass...Said it best, in my book the kid is a winner even if he never wins another game.....In this PC secular society it has become a no no to show your religious beliefs...If you are Christian...I might add. I actually find it refreashing to see somebody that gives thanks to God for something.......How many atheist do you think were at the frozen Chosen . I have never been considered religious but there have been a couple of times I was sure glad to see a man of the faith at my bedside,,,,,I for one am not offended by Tebow's show of faith...

I agree with the posters about faith, but the kid also has HEART! Sometimes that's all it takes.

Good to see another history buff here.

It's a pleasure to watch an athlete pray and/or point heavenward who isn't doing it because it's hip.

Ask yourself, who would you rather your grandkids pick as a roll model, Tebow or Michael Vic??

He threw for 316 yards, no kidding.

Against the defense's #1 defense and #1 pass defense, to boot! Tim Tebow took Dick LeBeau's normally excellent game plan and wiped his cleats with it. Very impressive.

I'm delighted with the outcome. It pleases me that the Steelers advanced no farther than the Bengals, the team for which I root.
