Today was my wife's birthday so I went out to the Veterans
Memorial cemetery in Medical Lake, WA.
I place a silver quarter on her head stone......
I miss her very much even though it's been only one year......

Hard to put a like on your post. I know how you are feeling. My best friend has been gone these last 4.5 years. Miss her so much. Just need to cherish the times we had.

I gave you a “like” because I’ve been where you are. I wish I could say it gets better, but it doesn’t. You just get use to a new “normal”.
The tears subside, the pain eases some but never really leaves. Family and friends help. I hope you have plenty of both.

Chief , my heart goes out to you . Can't say I know how you feel , we've been married 40 years and we're still going . But being married this long , I don't even want to think about my other half leaving me alone . When it happens I hope I go first .

My Wife and I have been married for 52 years, when we go I want it to be like the last scene in Bicentennial Man!

It is my understanding that the Government will supply a bronze (U.S Veteran) device that can be secured on a Headstone. The monument source just has to furnish a copy of a death certificate to obtain one and then mount it.

My sincere condolences. I have no words that can ease what you are going through, and will have to live with for the remainder of your days, but I wish you only the best.

This makes me realize how lucky I have been. I've been married to the love of my life for 58 years and counting, and know that few get to have what I have right now. I find myself with caring family, but few friends and none of them close. I have no idea how I would carry on if my wife were to go before me.
