I have a S&W 637 that I can use to mold holsters to and need to know what other S&W J-frame models will fit in my holsters. Is there a list or link that someone can share?

I know the 637, 36, 37, 442, 642 will fit. I'm guessing there is more?

Go on one of the larger Holster Maker's website and look for one of their fitment charts. Most have them on line.

The charts I've seen say "I can make for these models" That really doesn't help me out. They may have dummy guns or they may own the actual guns to mold around.

A J-frame is a J-frame. May run into trouble with some target sights and barrel length. If it's an open top with no strap the 638's will work.

About 80-90% of my commercial j-frame holsters also fit the Colt Detective Special/Cobra/Agent and also the Ruger SP-101.

I have a holster model out of horsehide for a 2" barrel 642. It fits a 37, a 36, a 640, and a 637.

Thanks guys! I was worried about a difference between cylinders in .38 and .357. I've also seen mention that S&W switched over to "magnum" sized J-frames and was wondering if that makes a difference for holster fit.

I think there is but you'd need one of each to compare. .357's got a longer frame and longer cylinder plus you have differences in barrel profiles and lengths and front sight heights.
